I am happy to inform the house that NNPC will never stammer and abandon the recruitment process. Goodluck jonathan has made it abundantly clear that there must be continuity whether ministers return or not, i am also happy to inform the house that madam Allison will definetly return as the minister for petroleum, her name has been forwarded but the senate recess has prevented screening, the senate will reconvene on the 28th of june, so we should expect the process to continue by july. goodluck to everybody.

Nawao for this condition. Expectedly, after they use this 60% / 40% criterion and discover southerners still perform well, the issue of federal character will still come up, thereby giving the northerners more slots. If this info is genuine and anything to go by, it should be totally rejected. Didn't we attend the same institution, offer the same courses? Are they saying graduates of Almighty ABU are of low standard with their counterparts in OAU or UNIZIK? Or the ones that attended KADPOLY are not as intelligent as graduates of FEDPOLY,ADO-EKITI or FEDPOLY, NEKEDE? Sincerely, this condition isn't the best at all. Afterall, we underwent the same NYSC scheme. They should do this thing on a level playing ground and not on percentage quota.

I see no reason why some people complain about the principle of equity as enshrined in the Federal Character requirement for all government appointments. The principle is fair and all inclusive that national iconic brands like FirstBank apply it in their recruitment process. Other multicultural and multiracial countries like the US and South Africa have this sort of arrangements as Affirmative Action to bridge the inequality in access to economic resources and employment by all races. In Nigeria, all 19 Northern states are classified as educationally less privileged even as the literacy level in the North is lower compared to the South. The principle of federal character therefore is meant to promote equal assess to the public good irrespective of limitations. When you attended the the NNPC recruitment test, you were competing against people from your state, for the slots allocated to your state and if you beat everyone from your state, the job is yours. If an indigent person from Abuja scores 20% in the test and he/she got the highest grade of those from Abuja who wrote the test, he/she gets the job even if someone from Lagos scores 80% and did not get the job because he/she came last amongst those from that state who wrote the same test. I ask those complaining about the North to find ways of effectively competing with lads from their state for the share of the public good allocated to them rather than enviously coveting Northern share. The principle of federal character must be uphold to guarantee equal opportunity for all. Most the people deriding the principle of federal character have forgotten that it came about when the South complained about domination by the North in federal appointments. How then could Southerners complain about the same law they demanded? The question is meant to be rhetorical.

No body is giving Northerners more slots than Southerners. If 100 slots are allocated to each state, everyone will compete with those from their state for that 100 slots so that the first 100 candidates with the best scores from each state will be considered for appointment. Remember, since performance may vary across states, cut-off marks must also reflect individual state performance; fair, isn't it? You are a smart guy am sure, 60% will not be beyond your ability.

Every expectant individual should remain hopeful and faithful. Avoid lenghty arguments that lead us off the topic at hand and concentrate more on information leading to the very topic under discussion.

Whatever methods they shose should be great for Nigerians because 'some' leaders have sworn to 'serve' and I'm confident a transformation of Nigeria isn't far away.

Believe it or not...Goodluck wants to serve and some of his actions will proven that point.

    God bless!
