Hi, just being curious - but is there any reason why you are not providing direct answers? People (some, atleast) on here just want tips from you, but you seem to be a little bit reserved about your experience in detail? Please don't get me wrong oh, I haven't been invited for the interview. I'm just observing really.

I think anyone that actually asks for information such as these is actually selfish. Everybody on that interview list is YOUR COMPETITION. Giving out any kind of info about the interview puts you at a disadvantage. You won't be rewarded for telling others the format of the interview. I assume every one here is a college graduate. Get on the internet and research interviews. PRACTICE and be yourself. Asking specifics about an interveiw that others did is selfish. They did not get any info when they went in so why should you. If you get specifics, don't you think you would have added advantages over the others? His response is absolutely perfect and i wont expect any less from others. Everyone is your competition whether you like it or not. If you need general interviewing tips, search the net. This is a general response and not aimed at you storck187. Just quoted you cos i know a lot share your opinion.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
I understand all of that, and personally if anyone opened up and said I was asked so, so and so - I will be very surprised.
However, what I mean by tips, could be "The interview was competency based" or "The interview was purely technical" or something along those lines. ExxonMobil's competencies are on their website, its only expected that any applicant going for an interview with them should know by now what their competencies are.
Just my view sha, but I understand your point.
PS - The act of selflessness is definately rewarded by God, and whether or not an individual decides to share his experience during an interview - HIS job will still be HIS job and no man on earth will change that. :)

Sorry guys, it wasn't supposed to be coded in any way, was just responding to ninialways post.

Yes we have both been invited for the Exxon Mobil interview but no dates have been fixed yet. The mail only asks that we let them know where we presently reside so that they may fix the date and venue.

I wrote my skills test here in the U.K by the way, and I am a Chemical Engineer.

The Ifeanyi guy get im own levels o! Let me quote him, "You know ExxonMobil is committed to hiring the best. After this interview, the candidates will be ranked and the 'high-fliers' will be contacted as from the next two weeks for interviews with our General Managers." hmmm . . . .
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@EdgarG, is the next stage going to be technical based, or competency based? Someone told me it's going to be a technical interview. Is the next stage also the last stage. NOTE: my interview is next week

It could be an assessment of technical competency, but I don't know (unless for experienced hire, I'm a trainee candidate and some things are not expected of me). What I know is that it is the last stage and folks are hardly dropped at that stage. I didn't know interview entered next week for Nigerian candidates, they must have more than 80 candidates to interview. Best wishes in your interview (time to shine, right? lol!).
-
-
@9star is ur interview nxt week in lagos? Or london?
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@EdgarG, Let's hope folks will not be dropped at that last stage because it will be painful to go through 5 stages and not make it. I hope that info is authentic. Interview continues in Lagos next week @ least. Cheers
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@Ninialways and femomenal, have your interview date been fixed? I think I got my mail at the same time you guys got yours but I have not heard from them since. Your response is highly appreciated.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@Ojeebe, 120! Wow. The recruitment must be then. Do you have any idea how many candidates will get recruited at the end of the day?
