Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
one thing i kw 4sure is dat; 1. Aptitude test is designed to be extremely hard to get 100%. 2. For in as much as some ppl score 100% and so many score above 95% as currently being rumoured then one cant call that a test. 3. Dragnet will nt be stupid enough to send the said high score results with a proper review. 4. Exxon Mobil is a 1st class international body and will definitely pick d best irrespective of dragnet incompetencies and some candidate 'sharp acts'.
GOD BLESS NHJ
GOD BLESS US
GOD BLESS DRAGNET
GOD BLESS MOBIL

Calm down guys and please start preparing your skills test. Due to the following reasons:-
1. Computational in-competencies by dragnet (Some people's comprehension questions repeated it self throughout the whole section)
2. Repeating of the claimed leaked questions by dragnet during retest
3. The fact that on Tuesday calculators were allowed for the same exams but on Wednesday dragnet removed the use of calculators by candidates
the cut off mark will be made low by Mobil so as to give everyone a fair shot in the recruitment considering the exams circumstances were not same/fair for all candidate and although all candidates were equal, due to some in-competencies, some were more equal than others. The skills test will be likely toughened to weed out people those candidates who were illegally equal than others and don't posses those qualities.
Am sure everyone with a brain will pass this test. So relax guys, just practice hard for the next phase of the recruitment.
Warm regards to everyone.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@wiseguy4real, i quite contend with the truth that dragnet needs 2 buckle up, however i would disagree with your point 3. No one used calculators. I was the first batch on tuesday, and as we were about to commence - armed with our calculators - the instructors asked us to hand them over. They said it was a last minute directive 4rm Mobil.
So no one "legally" used a calculator. Except of course, for the quick guys that used the on-screen calc. But this in my opinion is an unavoidable nuisance as a few guys always cheat despite the odds. Just like in school. And even folks dat wrote outside d country were not even allowed calcs.
About the cutoff theory, i believe our proposed figures are at best hypothetical, and not box scores as no one knows what Mobil will actually do.
However, if you ask me, I'ld tell you that whether some folks cheated or not, fact remains that a considerably good score 4 a test-taker is around 70%. Now truth is, Mobil, Chevron, Shell e.t.c are companies that luv hiring d best candidates. So typicall, scores below that are not their kinda thing. Truth is, most tyms they want 80% and above.
Having said all that, my main point here is to remind all of us that even if it is a reality that some guys had advantage over others, it doesn't still mean that the 'disadvantaged' guys shouldn't still score 70% and above! If u are good and prepared, then cheats shouldn't entirely bother you.
Now to advance my own theory, i believe instead of 80% and above, they mite step it down to say: 70% and above. Just my thoughts though (even though they correct almost everytym).
Goodluck 2 all of us!
-
From a reliable source;
1. The total score is 56 which is then converted to
100%.
2. The client decides the cutoff which is based on
the number of candidates they can handle for the skill test eg chevron requested for the first 500
names for the oil and gas training out of over
10,000 that wrote the test.
So, the next stage is a function of 'General
Performance' and not on a predetermined cutoff
point.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Dt means a cut off point can be as high as 95% and cld as well be as low as even 45% since it's performance dependent
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
D prayer point should therefore b; O Lord may I b in d NUMBER!
-
From experience, Dragnet don't add the total scores to 56 before converting it to 100 percent. They first convert the separate scores to 100 percent, and then divide the percentage scores in Verbal, Numerical and Abstract by 3. One week after my NBC/Dragnet test in 2010, our scores were sent to us through text message, and each of the scores were stated there together with the average score. There is no negative marking in Dragnet test. The cut-off mark depends on the general performance and the number of people needed for the skill test.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
It is really interesting and quite informative as well, if I must be honest that reading through the comments makes me laugh. Firstly, at this stage, I quite believe Dragnet has run out of questions and their R&D section is really lagging behind. I mean how do you explain the justification behind a test whose questions many - a- candidate has become strongly acquainted with, In any case, the tests scores in any psychometric test is supposed to follow a Gaussian (normal) distribution, with very few people scoring high and very few people scoring low. Once the distribution becomes largely skewed, then it doesn't take rocket science to figure out something is wrong. Those who have access to Dragnet can kindly pass the information across.
Secondly, I would love to believe everyone here is dignified enough to restrain from spreading spurious claims as regarding the cut-off or benchmark as evidently perpetrated by @Labalaba which, had it not been for the acute observation of Triple-C, might have eluded many.
Lastly, some while some would be shown the door at this stage, others would be shown the same door at the final stage, according to Winston Churchill, "success is never final, failure is never fatal; courage is what counts". Whatever happens make the best out of yourself, not every one is going to be employed by Mobil.

Why drag it further. You got caught. Let it go. Move on. For someone who got 100% in the verbal, your comprehension skills are really lacking cos you can't even spot where you goofed
