I might not be too good in differentiating 'formal' and 'informal' invites but I have been told where I am coming, why I am coming, and when I am coming. At the end telling me a mail will be sent, also confirming my e-mail address.

Thank you 'teebam', I don't think it depends on degree but I am not Mechanical. By the way, they have sent the mail.

You could have indicated you were invited all the way.
Well, I do not know how the interview will be but I am not expecting questions from my academic background since the skills test has been done. Right now, I am working on my confidence and effective communication.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Edgar: That's how they are....as if one is competing with them. Now he's here begging for pple's guidance.
No one's progress is tied to another man's progress.
If you want to do solo, do it completely and dnt try to play on people's intelligence, cos where yours stops is likely where another man's starts!

Congrats Edgar!
Just to be on the safe side, I would advise that you still make effort to know your discipline in a practical way as it affects Mobil. I'm saying this because somewhere along the line on this thread or one of the other mobil threads, i read that for electrical guys for instance, there were asked to identify devices such switches, contacts etc and questions were also asked on them. So, don't just focus on behavioral questions. You will succeed!

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
I'll give some facts and figures. Draw your conclusions and make your stories out of it:
An in-tray session, after which you go for the interview proper. The longest interview I've ever been to (talking for close to 2 hours and everything I ate practically disappeared). That's why they'll keep some stuff at the entrance for you to eat shaa. Panel was rigorous (everyone is not facing the same panel though).
The will get back to "top-flying" candidates as from two weeks' time (those were his words).
Interviews are on Mon, Tue and Wed (estimated 24 candidates: 4 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon each day), both trainee and experienced inclusive. It was gathered that on Monday there were 2 guys & 2 ladies in the morning, 2 guys & 2 ladies in the afternoon also. Some of the ladies are currently contract staff in the company or present/past associates of the company (in the form of NYSC or Internship). Among the 4 in the afternoon, it was only one candidate that is familiar with NHJ.
I was particularly happy to meet a guy that we both missed the NB Plc test on that 22nd. When we arrived Unilag from Canton, the self-acclaimed punctual Workforce were already packing their stuff and all our begging was to no avail. Circumstance couldn't allow us interact at one of the interview rooms, we only had handshake and he left.
This is just a feedback (nice-to-know basis). It's not meant to help anybody on the interview.

That they didn't ask Mr A why he chose HSE does not mean they won't ask Mr B to explain how Elect/Elect can be applied to oil and gas facilities.
