@9star No, I dnt know but it's quite a major one and d number should be higher than normal considering that they've not done this for a few years now.One can postulate based on the number of trainees across disciplines and all but it will be just that, a guess. So I guess we jst wait for 2 to 3 weeks abd see what happens.....

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Interview was gruelling to say the least (they seem to be experts at drilling holes into all of your transparencies particularly if u r not well prepared for the kind of things u'll meet there!) Was also told there will be a next stage! Also learnt that succesful finalists should resume at the end of december/ begining of january.
does any one know if there r thru with candidates in nigeria? Has any of our counterpaats in foriegn locations recieved further communication as regards the date of their interviews? wishing everyone in the race the very best!
@Edgar; Maximum respect!

@iluobe_bo did u do urs today?I asked d same questions you asked but got no answers..are they done in naija?have dey strtd wiv the foreign candidates? But no replies....

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Hey peeps! I just asked my friend that did his skills test in uk, he hs been invited for the interview but they still haven't gotten back to them on the date and venue of the interview since then. Another friend of mine also informed me recently about his friend that has been invited for the second interview, and was amongst the first set of ppl that did the first interview.
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
What's the second interview about? Somebody should clarify this
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
heard nufin techy..jus a normal short interview/chat..
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
I want to know if they are through with the first interviews in Nigeria. I have confirmed from very reliable sources that they have started calling people for the next stage. That is why I want to know what the 2nd interview is all about
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
The second interview is a meeting with the GMs of the respective functions, probably depending on your degree
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
What will be the point of discussion?
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
I was told that 120 ppl made it to the 1st interview, the successful ones will make it to the next stage which is a chat with the GMs of the 6 Engineering depts. This is for them to have a best fit for your competency.
I was also told this Trainee Program is for 3 years although you have the ability to finish it in less or more (it shows you are bright and a fast learner if you do it under 3 yrs).
Again that we would be contacted in 2-3 weeks time. I called Ifeanyi the other day, he replied that telling me if mails are being sent out for the next stage is a breech of company's policy. Said I should chill till I got mine.
As an advice to you all:
Try and contact anyone you know in ExxonMobil and find out the various engineering departments and their functions.
Then come up with a stimulating conversation on where you see yourself in Mobil and why.
Also brush yourself up on your school projs and the courses you loved the most...
May the best individual win
Good luck to you all who will get the invite to the last stage.
*I am yet to get mine.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
this thread is dying...anyone with usefull info for us? lets keep the hope alive oooo....someone say sumfin...
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Think it was someone on this thread earlier that said on his day of interview, he was the only one of eight that frequented NHJ, if u use that stat for the 120 people you are looking at just about 14, with other constraints, just 6-9.
My humble opinion is to put your ears out outside here especially concerning this thread.
We all await the best

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)

I Think they are not really looking to drop people so if d whole 120 people perform above their minimum standard then they can hire or atleast have a waiting list.
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Fadiboy, I don't quite agree with you. It's not likely that Mobil will take 120 people in one recruitment. I personally don't buy into the whole 'minimum standard' story; it doesn't make sense.
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@Joker, I heard they need about 15 people but I'm hoping it's not true.

Mind you this is a multinational that has not recruited for the past 3yrs and are planning new projects. Every multinational has a standard or a model of their ideal candidate - the issue is how easy it is to satisfy their conditions given the realities and pressures of an interview. If u observe the way that interview was structured, It was just "you" and "Exxonmobil". No Issue of competition with other interview candidates n all that.

OMG! heard 15 too. Was seriously hoping it wasn't going to be true!
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Yea Chavin. From feelers during the final interview, 15 seems to be closer to the personnel requisition for this year. Impressed with the speed and consistency of their process though.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
1. There are still a few people remaining to be called. Interviews will probably finish next week.
2. Performance will be ranked and the top guys will be given offers based on the number of people to be recruited by management. Thus, it's highly competitive.
3. The plan is to finish the process before the end of the year.
Yup! I am out!
