@All - The SITP guys today was fantastic and were looking pretty good on their black suit. Well They were called the Lucky ones but i think they are rather the fortunate ones.

There are 74 of them, 21 female and 53 male.
62 Engineers specialist and 12 Geo science specialist.

The last batch started 1st august 2009, will the next batch be 1 september 2010?

From all indication the 15th batch of SITP will commence soon, no specific date yet known to me, but i think email will start rolling in either tomorrow or from next week. The Program honestly is among the best in the world. No much tori, We will be there. More Prayer and Faith. Lets always have a positive mindset. God will do it for us. Cheers

Hey P4E! I was about coming to holla you about your findings but glad you came up just now. I really appreciate your positive attitude towards the present situation at hand compared to some gloomy posters we have in the house (no names though)..if only everyone here could be as positive as you.

Now my questions are: 1) Why did they call them the Lucky ones? God forbid, but are they planning to stop the SITP program?

2) Do you have any idea when the present set got the email inviting them for their medicals? That could give us an idea of when to expect the emails if they (Shell) still plans on resuming the next set by the 1st week of September.

@p4e - cud it hav been that happy a day for all of them? I was told by sum1 in this present set that they were only selecting a very small number of them as staff of shell. maybe 10 n that those that wud b chosen already had an idea of this. dunno how true that is tho.

Does any1 hav any info on this cos Ive always heard that not evry1 makes it thru SITP. Perhaps the top 10 n a few connected ones in each set? I know 2 ppl from sets past who hav done the SITP but not made it any father than that with Shell. Altho, it provided a platform for them and they hav both gone on to do great thins.

@impish: Na three times you call me o my guy. lol. You know it would be proper to clarify every info we were given naa.

I think that idea of choosing only the top ten or so is no more valid, they had stopped that some years back from what i gathered. Now when you are taken for SITP, you are made a staff already and only need to pass the programme. As a matter of fact, you get paid like a staff even during the program, the people that fail are those that perform woefully...and one would wonder how they even made it there in the first place.

@ impish: I cannot even understand who this source who gave you that hilarious piece of information could possibly be. It has been years since shell dropped anyone who passes through SITP. That was ages ago.

This entire set have been given postings to departments and states where they will be working. They will ALL be going to PH next month for HR orientation after which they will ALL resume immediately. People wey don rent house finish na im you dey talk say wan commot.

true talk...the last person that told me about them not employing everybody they took on SITP did his own about '9 years' ago.The most recent i know of (2008 set) said that after the programme, you get absorbed into the system and u are paid a healthy sum monthly during the training.

@P4E, thanks for the information.Also, i thought they sed the SITP had only space for 100, was there any explanation on why only 74 were graduating?

@smartblackboy I guess the reason for the less number of pple for SITP in d last batch was because the was a lot of issues worrying shell and FG especailly in the niger delta region and also a financial recession in the world. So shell had to reduce their cost cos of business reasons. But thank GOD that all these issues have being resloved, so hopefully the number of pple will increase this time around.

So has anyone been able to confirm the 'mystery' of the rejection letters?
