A firm in Lagos is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Logistic Manager.

Job Objective(s)
•To take control of M-P Infrastructure operational planning and forecasting function to provide an uninterrupted flow of local and foreign products, in compliance to M-P Infrastructure Quality Standard at competitive rates.

Responsibilities
Business Planning
• Develops, maintains and updates (weekly) a Procurement schedule
• Prepares products stock level reports on all Branches
• Create policies or procedures for logistics activities.
Manage Procurement Services
• Evaluation ,selection and implementation of supply chain partners to match M-P Infrastructure needs.
• monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods
• Supplier negotiation to incorporate supplier capacity planning, forecasting cost of supply, supplier development and partnership sourcing
• Creates and enforces a short turn-around time for processing of Requisition and Purchasing orders
• Maintains database of suppliers to determine their costs and performance
• Oversees the conduct of timely Market Surveys to ensure cost effective sourcing
Manage Logistics & Transportation
• Successful implementation of supply management principles such as reduction in lead times and product resource planning
• Monitors and controls allocation of Company Resources for effective, efficient and timely product delivery
• Oversees the arrangement and coordination of transportation of product
• Ensures that delivered products are inspected to conform with the specifications of the order
• Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
• Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles.
Manage Product Handling
• Develop system to ensure product accountability and reduce shrinkage
• Control inventory investment and loss at a minimum level

Qualification & Experience

B.Sc. degree in a related field
Three years in a purchasing or logistics role
