i for one don,t think she has any hidden agenda bcos dpr is just like her bag incase that she has the final bcos dpr don,t hv internal or external board members in sense that it operation is just like ministry setting, wht am tring to say she can arbsorb as much as possible without even anybody anyslot even the director, if she wish, if i may who brought the director frm shell upstream international, onlike nnpc that has internal board member, although she chairman, but must carry them along, inorther word she must give them their own slot

great guys, be rest assured dat dis recruitment exercise shall reached it logical conclusion. d only thing that will stop this exercise to the best of my knowledge is the budget approval. d minister has already mentioned it publically dat d increament in d ministry's budget is to take care of d dpr ongoing recruitment exercise. and d dpr boss also mentioned it in his defence. he went to d extent of saying 'in 2 wks tym dpr wil recruit'. there may be delays, but it shall eventually come to an end. and d end shall favour us by GOD'S GRACE.

FINALLY, she claims all is well and she will handle the matter to a logical conclusion, she admitted that alot of external pressure was on her but she is capable of standing to defend the integrity of this TRANSPARENT PROCESS.

I was at DPR office today and all the staff i met told me they are not paid their JANUARY ALLOWEE/UPFRONT......so from all indication its the budget that was delaying this TRANSPARENT, FREE AND FAIR PROCESS.

He who endures till the end shall be rewarded. I smile because this entire process has been challenging so far. What doesn't break you will make you. All I know is that we shall work in DPR. As for the Minister, I feel she has nothing to gain by spoiling the process cos, she championed it from the very beginning.

Like so many before me, let me quickly appreciate enyajude for starting this blog and all those who have kept it (and our hopes) alive. thanks a million. permit me to say but this Dpr thing reminds me of a folktale story.

A prophet once prophesied to a set of identical twins, to one he said " In five years from now, you are going to be very rich, powerful and famous" while to the other he said," dont even bother, just depend on your brother, bcos your star is bound to fail". The first twin simply decided to do nothing afterall he was bound to be rich but the other twin decided, well since he was already destined for failure he could as well just look for a small source of livelihood to sustain himself until his brother becomes rich, unbelievably after five years, the one destined for riches was a miserable poor man while the other ones 'small' business had gone on to become a commercial success and he was very rich.

Guys I really truly dont want to dampen morale or have 'sticks and stones' hurled at me for this but i think of it all the time, especially for those of us who are christians, i sometimes think it's 'unfaithlike' to apply for other jobs if i truly believe the Lord has given me this Dpr job but ....

Jonathan slashes 2012 budget to N4.648trnFebruary 22, 2012 | 2:36 amNewsBy Inalegwu ShaibuABUJA – President Goodluck Jonathan has sent a revised budget proposal of N4.648 trillion for the year 2012 to the National Assembly. The revised budget is N101 billion short from the budget proposal of N4.749 trillion which the President presented to the National Assembly in the December 2011.The proposal also includes N888 billion allocations to petroleum subsidy which was not part of the initial budget.Jonathan in a letter to Senate read by Senate President David Mark explained that the review of the budget and the 2012-2014 revenue frameworks were necessitated by the need for government to accommodate the reintroduction of the petroleum subsidy scheme. The letter read: “Recent domestic developments, key among which was the partial withdrawal of subsidy on petroleum products and the ripple effect on the government revenue and expenditure items, have necessitated the revision of the 2012-2014 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the 2012 budget proposal which I presented to the National Assembly on the 13th of December 2011.“In this respect, I hereby forward copies of the revised 2012 budget proposal. It is my hope that the distinguished Senate will kindly consider and approve these revised proposals expeditiously.”Details of the revised budget brought by the President showed a downward review of most of government spending captured in the first version of the 2012 budget proposal. In the revised budget, capital expenditure was scaled down from N1.39 trillion initially proposed by Jonathan to N1.281 trillion. The cut further extends to recurrent which now stood at N2.432 trillion as against N2.471 proposal by the President. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which initially had N40 billion, was cut by N5 billion to N35 billion.Other reductions captured in the revised budget proposal includes N54 billion for Niger Delta, now N48 billion. The Universal Basic Education, UBE budget was also reduced by N5 billion. It now have N63 billion as against N68 billion.Budget proposal for the Presidency was slashed by N2.7 billion. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation budget was cut by another N2 billion, that is from N47 billion to N45 billion. The slash affected the Ministries of Education and Petroleum. But Defence made up of the main ministry, the Army, Navy and Air Force were not affected by the cut. Rather, allocations to defence in the revised budget was increased by N6 billion, rising from N325 billion to N331 billion.Further details of the budget showed the National Assembly and the office of the National Security Adviser retaining their previous allocations.
