Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
if they are cancelling jst d test taken in Nigeria centers, does that mean that those in d UK who took same test didn't have access to d leaked questions. I doubt it, bcos the leaked materials where mainly distributed through social networks like NHJ nd they all have access to d internet wherever they may be. I jst hope we won't be assessed on dsame cut-off marks. So make wetin dem write for stay for London....o, nd wetin dem write for Nigeria stay for Nigeria,, lol.

The truth is that the decision makers in these organizations are annoyingly incompetent!!!!!
Even a daft should know that the world is now a global village and information can travel billions of miles with just a single click of the mouse.
If they really want to be fair, why leave out UK/US centres? Given that these foreign applicants are even more favoured to get the job due to the foreign certificates/work experiences, why give them undue advantage over those writing in Nigeria?
Pity guys writing, make una try sha......all the best mates!!!

You are wrong my guy. By the time the info leaked most of them had done the tests. UK/US centers only had 6th and 7th. (this may not apply to the second batch candidates for the 13th though).
I am sure they must have looked at the scores from these centers and compared with the NIgerian centers are noticed the disparity. Also, the number of candidates in these centers is astronomically low when compared to the naija centers so don't expect it to affect the naija recruitment by much. As an example, the total number of candidates that took the test on the 6th and 7th in the US was approximately 30.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@nalish & all.
A good friend of mine had his exam scheduled for 3.30pm Wednesday, he called the 2nd number of the two dragnet contact numbers i dropped here over the weekend IN THE MORNING time & discovered that both were switched off. He later re-dialed the numbers at about 2:10pm, and the second number was picked by a lady. To cut the long story short, he was able to reschedule his test to the first batch of that same day, which is by 9am.
the two numbers, once again, are : 08174613680 and 08174613677
Wishing all those writing the exams the very best. cheers!

Dragnet , pls give us new challenges in order to select the best candidates for your clients and redeem your image which is derailing.Dragnet wake up because is easy to fall but very hard to redeem a tarnished image.
Was their Chevron test only aptitude test? No skill based test or science based test?

I just received a text that calculators are not allowd. Anyone who has done is should pls confirm if this is true. Were u allowed to use calculator?
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Yep no calcs allowed! I guess they want to reduce the number of folks that actually get 100% by slowing them down. But the joke is, if they increase their questions, there wouldn't be need 4 calculators when my brain already knows that one of the answers is 2.45 million...
Dragnet plz wake up and increase your questions - and quickly too!
-
Meant if they don't increase their questions!

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Guys I want to advise that people should go in, forget the issue of looking for questions and do their best. That one has written those questions under some tense test condition before does not guarantee you ll do well by repeating them again, except if you have the questions in your house verbatim and you are prepared to just go in there and write the answer down without looking at questions. I wrote the earlier mobil test and have done this one today and these are my conclusions:1. The condition under which I wrote earlier mobil test before was tense and even though some of the question were repeated they have been shuffled that I still need to read through them (I mean the numerical) before I could even attempt them. The fact that I am struggling to finish all even made the matter worse.2. Not all the previous questions were repeated, they have been mixed with new ones (although I didn't do chevron test and wouldn't know if they are exact copy of the chevron ones).3. Calculators were not allowed and that put you under much pressure and when you are under pressure nothing is certain4. Condition of test does not guarantee that one is sure of having correct answers to all the problems, you are working against time that sometimes some of what you thought were right answers before could have been wronged and to guarantee correctness, you might still need to work through most of the problems all over again.5. The abstract are more abstruse( I mean more difficult to understand) this time around and except for one, two or three, many are not anything near what we had earlier in the cancelled test.6. The verbal section was relatively easier and that is the place to rake in mark I guess.7. I don't know if those who wrote earlier in the morning had calculator advantage before "no calculator policy" was implemented but one thing I am certain of is that calculators were screened out at the gate of my centre (Chams city lagos) and there is no way anyone could have even gone in with it or with his mobile phone. If you have any of them, you were sent back and not allowed to come in. I asked some people from the batch that wrote just before me and they confirmed the same thing I said regarding the calculator. Finally, like I earlier said, except you have live questions and you are sure they are going to be repeated verbatim, it is safe to prepare well and stop relying on expo. The idea of shuffling questions is to make sure people are given element of surprise even if they have been exposed to some of the questions before. Also the idea of not giving enough time is to ensure you work under duress that you cant even remember what you are given and how you go about doing them once you stepped out of the hall. That is psychology. A word is enough for the wise.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
I must say today's test was a little tougher for me cos I had to start adding and multiplyn decimals on the numerical. The abstract was tougher too, couldn't finish any sha but God dey. E go beta
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@kjosefa, perfect analogy bro. Your analysis was very spot-on. I might however add that while i agree with your assertion, dragnet still has to increase its questions.
I say this not as a nagging critic but as a witness from the test-taking perspective. Let me say this for the second time: More than 75% of the Chevron questions were repeated in my session today.
The abstract part was exactly same as that for Chevron. And funnily, a passage was repeated in the verbal section. What sort of coincidence is that.
My point actually is not one of any form of diatribe but one that seeks to explain the need for dragnet to get more questions.
Not just a few but a multitude of questions such that even though the questions are shuffled randomly from the question bank, at any point a candidate may get entirely new questions. If you need a litmus test, check out shl.
How fair is a test when you get nearly all you did a couple of days ago? Plus the most annoying part is that there are no jobs in the country thus the same cycle of job seekers keep taking the tests, pushing the competition through the roof with lots of folks scoring very high and cut-offs being increased leaving the greenhorn albeit, intelligent 'dragnetees' feeling like dullards not knowing that at some point 70% hardly matters anymore.
It is well!

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Same old dragnet questions we have been writing for the past 20 years now. I got so pissed 2day seeing the very same numerical questions that require a calculator to solve we were not allowed to use calculators. How am I expected to sum 20 different large numbers in my head and then divide and start comparing all in 1 minute? I want to congratulate Dragnet for helping ensure my streak of scoring 100% in any mathematics exam ended 2day. Thumbs Up Dragnet. Also, thanks for repeating one passage twice meaning I used only 1 passage to answer 8 questions. That helped me conserve time too.

Please let's all clap for him, he's been scoring 100% in Maths since birth (even when the actual percentage scores like SSCE are not usually fed back).
What a way to intimidate the innocent.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
LOL... Why is it that dragnet wasn't criticised by peeps/applicants ever since (2009-2011) when they kept repeating same limited questions when conducting tests for companies like.... (jst nt to b specific: non-oil companies)??? Is it cos it's Exxon & Chevron job(s) at stake thats why everyone is identifying the obvious flaws by dragnet. LOL.... comon guys!!! watever sha, my recommendation to dragnet is that if they want to win future contracts with the HR dept of these multinationals (especially d oil companies), they got to really really step-up d game.

@Akan A1: If I may ask, "how old are you that you've been writing the same old dragnet questions for 20 years?"...I knw u were just trying to stress how familiar those questions were. ;)...It is well sha.
