Congrats 2 those dat used calculators b4 dragnet woke up 4rm their sleep.Congrats also 2 those dat had 2 or 3 or 4 passages repeated 4rm previous tests-wat can we say oda than that d incompetence is mind boggling. We hail dragnet(d new jamb)
I just re-scheduled my test from 11am to 12:30pm. U can call 08174613677 if u have issues with the time of ur test.
All the best guys!
@storck, just as usual bro...
Guys I want to advise that people should go in, forget the issue of looking for questions and do their best. That one has written those questions under some tense test condition before does not guarantee you ll do well by repeating them again, except if you have the questions in your house verbatim and you are prepared to just go in there and write the answer down without looking at questions. I wrote the earlier mobil test and have done this one today and these are my conclusions:1. The condition under which I wrote earlier mobil test before was tense and even though some of the question were repeated they have been shuffled that I still need to read through them (I mean the numerical) before I could even attempt them. The fact that I am struggling to finish all even made the matter worse.2. Not all the previous questions were repeated, they have been mixed with new ones (although I didn't do chevron test and wouldn't know if they are exact copy of the chevron ones).3. Calculators were not allowed and that put you under much pressure and when you are under pressure nothing is certain4. Condition of test does not guarantee that one is sure of having correct answers to all the problems, you are working against time that sometimes some of what you thought were right answers before could have been wronged and to guarantee correctness, you might still need to work through most of the problems all over again.5. The abstract are more abstruse( I mean more difficult to understand) this time around and except for one, two or three, many are not anything near what we had earlier in the cancelled test.6. The verbal section was relatively easier and that is the place to rake in mark I guess.7. I don't know if those who wrote earlier in the morning had calculator advantage before "no calculator policy" was implemented but one thing I am certain of is that calculators were screened out at the gate of my centre (Chams city lagos) and there is no way anyone could have even gone in with it or with his mobile phone. If you have any of them, you were sent back and not allowed to come in. I asked some people from the batch that wrote just before me and they confirmed the same thing I said regarding the calculator. Finally, like I earlier said, except you have live questions and you are sure they are going to be repeated verbatim, it is safe to prepare well and stop relying on expo. The idea of shuffling questions is to make sure people are given element of surprise even if they have been exposed to some of the questions before. Also the idea of not giving enough time is to ensure you work under duress that you cant even remember what you are given and how you go about doing them once you stepped out of the hall. That is psychology. A word is enough for the wise.
I must say today's test was a little tougher for me cos I had to start adding and multiplyn decimals on the numerical. The abstract was tougher too, couldn't finish any sha but God dey. E go beta
@kjosefa, perfect analogy bro. Your analysis was very spot-on. I might however add that while i agree with your assertion, dragnet still has to increase its questions.
I say this not as a nagging critic but as a witness from the test-taking perspective. Let me say this for the second time: More than 75% of the Chevron questions were repeated in my session today.
The abstract part was exactly same as that for Chevron. And funnily, a passage was repeated in the verbal section. What sort of coincidence is that.
My point actually is not one of any form of diatribe but one that seeks to explain the need for dragnet to get more questions.
Not just a few but a multitude of questions such that even though the questions are shuffled randomly from the question bank, at any point a candidate may get entirely new questions. If you need a litmus test, check out shl.
How fair is a test when you get nearly all you did a couple of days ago? Plus the most annoying part is that there are no jobs in the country thus the same cycle of job seekers keep taking the tests, pushing the competition through the roof with lots of folks scoring very high and cut-offs being increased leaving the greenhorn albeit, intelligent 'dragnetees' feeling like dullards not knowing that at some point 70% hardly matters anymore.
It is well!
Same old dragnet questions we have been writing for the past 20 years now. I got so pissed 2day seeing the very same numerical questions that require a calculator to solve we were not allowed to use calculators. How am I expected to sum 20 different large numbers in my head and then divide and start comparing all in 1 minute? I want to congratulate Dragnet for helping ensure my streak of scoring 100% in any mathematics exam ended 2day. Thumbs Up Dragnet. Also, thanks for repeating one passage twice meaning I used only 1 passage to answer 8 questions. That helped me conserve time too.
