Setting a standard for Renumeration as a fresh graduate might be a difficult task. Most interview require the applicant to state a figure for his/her renumeration. At this point the applicants gets tensed. This decision shouldn't be borne out of sentiment.

    Here is a quick calculator:

    1. What are my "natural" skills - Talents are very important factor to put into consideration. It runs in our day-to-day activity. REMEMBER - People get paid for there talent.

    2. What are my "learnt" skills - Learnt skill at this point is not all about your first degree(BSc). Its how far you have been able to add value to your first degree. This could come in form certifications, practical training etc.

    3. How vast is my knowledge of the job - If you find yourself applying for a job you know so much about and you are sure your contribution will transform the organisation. Dont bid for peanuts but pls be considerate with pricing. It is important!!!

    4. Previous paid employments - This is the simplest of all. Previous paid jobs will serve as a good yardstick for what you bid for in your new job. A proper understanding of the firm's organisational structure will do you good.

    Note: The list is inexhaustible.

Never state a figure you cannot defend and dont let your economic demands decide for you. It will be wrong to state N150,000 when you cannot defend it. Also dont sell yourself so as low as N20,000 when you are worth more. Its a hard decision.

Remember it is part of the Interview and you will be judged by it.

I worked for a leading IT firm during NYSC and i was retained immediately after and started on a salary of N80k subject to my confirmation. After being confirmed, it could go as high as N150K depending on highly im appraised by my boss.
If u are a graduate with a 2'1.. never settle for less than 60K or in the worse case 50K, cuz u are worth so much more. Goodluck to everyone.
