Why did some pples applications got rejected within a short time while others stil remain 'under review' for a long time?

Very good question. Mine was recieved, reviewed and rejected in three days. Funny indeed.

"Perhaps" it is because they have specific criteria which the applicants need to meet. Should any application(s) be found not to meet these, they are rejected at once. From the pool of applicants that meet the criteria, they have to shortlist those they deem "top applicants" (depending on the number they want to shortlist).

Whereas an application that has been under review for a very long time has somewhat great chances of being shortlisted, it may also be declined eventually.
This is just my two cents, any other member in the house could provide a better explanation.

I meant "eligible applicants," not "top applicants."

I wonder why some applicants received the final status (refusal) of their application b4 the deadline. Mine has been under review for 2 weeks. I bliv i wil get the final status after the deadline.

Mine was rejected on the ground that ''according to shell, I'm not a graduate''. WTF does this mean?

shell shld start shortlistin abeg.abeg i stil nid to knw ow i can reach any past questions on shell exam...
