What is actually going on in this thread? Are we here now to showcase the level of our grammatical exposures or what! I can now understand that the main focus of the forumites here have deviated to something else! Lets every one of us just ask him/herself, what is actually the aim of this thread? my joy is certain.that is one assurance i have.cos i can see this thread has gone from informative to abusive.this is when we shud be encouraging one another wit words edifying to the soul, but this is the time hopefuls are howling insults at eachother.from saying one grammatical expression is incorrect to flaunting of ambiguous vocabulary which most of the times lands the speaker in trouble.i am not criticising anyone i must carefully add, but what is the point of this thread in the first place like "PRINCEME" asked? the purpose of the thread is defeated and we need someone with genuine current info to come up with it maybe it will help revive and bring back fellow hopeful back on track.like i said at the beginning of the post, MY JOY IS CERTAIN, cos God told me so. and so is yours in Jesus name.shalom!

@ Prof Salvage: I didn't intend to comment but i have to due to the way you criticize people's ability to write English, let me make it clear English language is not our mother's tongue and neither is it your mother's tongue also you are always trying to show that you can use big big grammer but let me remind you this is Engineering forum not a Mass Com. Or Law Forum as an Engineer you don't need all this big grammer rather your creativity and analytical thinking is what matters most. I will like to ask you question are you an Engineer? If no please stay out of this thread becouse you don't have right to criticize our brilliant and intellectual forumites, if yes then iam very sure your analytical reasoning must be very narrow and you don't behave like an Engineer. @Steadytrial, Are you an ND holder? if yes, then it is understandable, if no, then your knowledge of the concept of audience is shallow. An audience is a shorthand for describing empirical phenomenon, it is a construct made up by the rhetoric and the rhetorical situation the text is addressing. Understand the fact that writers and speakers can target their communication to address a real audience , and that i have done.
You made mention of the word linguistics in your post while it flourished and you have concluded on an appraisal of yourself as an expert, my sincere advice is that you dust your abandoned school notes and refresh your memory on media theory and communication studies theories about the audience because you have totally forgotten.
Just for your benefit, the TWO-STEP FLOW MODEL advanced that the people with the highest language and media literacy explain and diffuse the content to others who don't and cannot understand .
Also take note of the fact that globalization has led to a boarder-less existence through technology that supports wide area networks (WANS), anybody in any part of the globe be it Asia, America, Africa e.t.c can access naijahotjobs online, so please steadytrial , what is your definition of an audience.
More-so, 1st class and 2.1 graduates dominate this thread, which by my own ranking is a highly literate audience, or are you suggesting that these 1st class and 2.1 graduates who scaled through to the interview stage are not good enough ? Please stop this uneducated show off.

.....Boarder-less or Border-less??....noone is infallible as far as language is concerned. Good people stay focus and not be distracted.
