He then added that, the Training Unit will continue to monitor the GTs for a period of one year {after they have been posted out} to see how there are performing under their different SBUs. Thus, all the GTs in the house, it does not end in receiving your letter; you must strive to pass the final exams in the Training School. Wishing you guys best of luck!!!! For the EHs, there's no Training Programme for you guys, only Induction programe spanning for a few days.
Good job, Animontee... I needed that info too. Will this training spanning eight months be in Abuja alone and do you know when it will start?

    God bless!

Another quick one... I'm told that the Training Unit is makng provision for 500 GTs. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying 500 GTs will be employed (before gys will start attacking me).... I'm saying a" provision" has been made for 500 GTs by NNPC Training Unit. what I can infer from this is that, 500 will be the maximum number that can be recruited under GTs.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get any info on the proposed number for EH, Operators, nor Contract Hires!!!!!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

A lot has been said on the number of people that applied for the different positions and the number of people called for the test and that 4700 people were called for the interview. What I have not heard anybody say is that a lot of people (Experienced Hire) were turned back on getting to the Amphi theatre just during accreditation. They were turned back based on the date on their NYSC discharge certificate. I did my interview on 1st August and was told that they started implementing that 2 weeks before my own interview date. The reason given was that their NYSC certificate reads September 2005. They said they could have accepted them if the date was say April 2005. In the advert for EH, it was stated there that they required 6 years post graduation experience, but on getting to Amphi Theatre, they officers there said what that means is 6 years post NYSC experience. So a lot of people were turned back. They were not given any form to fill, so their transport fare won't even be reimbursed. No trace that they came to Amphi Theatre. While waiting, I could count at least 10 people that were turned back. So, though 4700 were invited for the interview, but I am sure that not 4700 actually did the interview: some turned back, some probably wouldn't have been able to make it.

Another thing that one of the guys said was that it is going to be based on quota system. He said they decided to come in because they discovered that PCL invited some people that had 3rd class. He also said that the states in south west and south east had more candidates that were invited for the interview while those in the north had very few candidates. He gave an example of Ondo state having about 260 in the interview stage while some northern states had 26 people. For the northerners, they don't have to fear, it is those from the south west and south east that would have issues, because they can't take everybody. For instance, going by the figure from Ondo state, I am sure NNPC can't take more that 10% of people from Ondo. On the issue of whether the test will be re-written, I don't think so. A lot of 1st class graduates made it to the oral interview stage. I made a first class in my BSc, Distinction in my HND and ND, and I have worked on projects both home and abroad. I strongly disagree with anyone that say Nigerian 1st class products are not good enough.

It seems only Bsc graduats ar invitd 4 d interview. I av nt seen any HND holder makin coments. Although my friend made distinction and sat for the test but was not called for the interview. Or those it mean that the quota aloted for HND is very thin.
