Topic: MCITP/MCSE: Learn How Server 2003/2008 Group Policy Works

A lot of computer users in corporate network are always furious with IT department because of different levels of restrictions placed on their computers and user accounts. There are many reasons why companies are implementing all these restriction, but mainly to achieve performance, administration and security.

We’ll create a Sample Policy Together: We will lock down a user’s computer such that, he won’t be able to;
• See the clock,
• Change the computer wall paper
• View the local system drives
• Browse through the network path.

Computer and User Configuration: We’ll work with the Group Policy Object Editor, configure their policy settings and see their policies precedence.


Policy Refresh: We’ll know and work with the Policy refresh timing and the manual policy refreshing, between servers and clients, domain controllers.

Scope of management (SOM): The functionality of where our policy applies, whether sites, domain, OUs. We will also see our Policies can be linked, unlinked, deleted, and re-applied to SOM

You’ll also learn the implemettion of;
? Group Policy Security Filtering :
? Software Installation via Group Policy: The technology Publishing and assigning applications to user and computers centrally trough Group Policy.
? Software Restriction: Restricting some applications or programs such as games, internet explorers, etc from working on Clients’ computers.
