DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Change and Release Specialist and Manager- IT/Telecoms

Core Job Functions / Responsibility:
This position is all about applying a structured methodology and lead change management. The change and Release Specialist and Manager will be involved in Scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases including releases of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects and Programs.

Primary activities
· Provides tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production.
· Responsible for implementing and managing release processes for the progression of code in the development, test, and production environments.
· Forward Plan the release windows and cycles.
· Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
· Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
· Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates
· Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes
· Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
· Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required
· Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
· Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
· Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists

Job Requirements and Skills
Graduate Qualifications: A First degree BEng, BSc, BTec, Science or Technology Only from a recognised University REQUIRED.
Post Graduate Qualifications: Master’s degree or Post Graduate Qualification would be of ADVANTAGE.
Previous Experience: Telecoms exposure Required
Experience: 4 to 10 years’ relevant work experience in IT production environment, NYSC is ESSENTIAL.
Certifications and Training Requirements: Relevant IT Certifications (CISCO, JAVA etc.), ISO, ITIL, PMP, Applications etc. would be of ADVANTAGE.
