Our organisation is urgently in need of Head of Business/ Business Director. The position is one of the most senior full-time executive of the company (except when there is an executive chairman). He is responsible for the performance of the company, as dictated by the board’s overall strategy. He or she reports to the chairman or board of directors. His duties and level of responsibilities to the company will include but not limited to;

Job Responsibilities
Bring in New Business

The head of business is responsible for new business development.
He helps to bring new clients to the firm. In this way, he is similar to a high level salesperson.
The director sets meetings with potential clients (may be off-site at a dinner, on-site or at the customer's business) and presents a proposal in order to win a client's business.
The director stays in touch with potential clients.
In addition to bringing in new work, the director must also research and implement new strategies that could help increase his company's (and the stockholders') profits.


Keep Clients Happy

Once a new client comes on board, the head of business/ director must also nurture this new business relationship. The director helps make the transition smoother and addresses the client's major concerns on an ongoing basis.
She/he must stay abreast of new developments in the client's industry so that he/she can recommend new strategies and focuses for the company.


Recruit and Retain Employees

The head of business/ director oversees the recruitment and retention of employees. He is responsible for finding the best talent and bringing new team members, particularly top-tier executive level workers, on board at Noisemakers.
He stays in contact with top employees to assure that they are happy with the company and work environment.


Report to Board of Directors

One of the most important roles of the head of business/ director is to meet with and report information about the company's overall performance to the chairman and or board
of directors of the company regularly.
The board of directors makes recommendations regarding the company based on the director's reports. The head of business is responsible for either implementing these suggestions or going in a different direction, but either way he is held accountable for the results.


Other Responsibilities include:

Formulating and successfully implementing company policy;
Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the company;
Developing strategic operating plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities
established by the chairman or board;
Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the chairman of the board;
Putting in place adequate operational planning and financial control systems;
Ensuring that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only
understood but owned by the management and other employees;
Closely monitoring the operating and financial results against plans and budgets;
Taking remedial action where necessary and informing the board of significant changes;
Maintaining the operational performance of the company;
Monitoring the actions of the functional board directors;
Assuming full accountability to the board for all company operations;
Representing the company to major customers and professional associations;
Building and maintaining an effective executive team.


Qualifications& Personal Attributes

A minimum of a degree in a relevant field
Has executed successful partnerships from conception through completion of integration and on-going partner management
Has shown aptitude of aligning and driving companywide initiatives across multiple departments
Quantitative and analytical skills for financial modeling and business planning
Results oriented
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent networking skills
Ability to communicate clearly, persuasively and diplomatically to a wide range of audiences
Must be detail oriented and can work well under pressure
Self-starter and fast learner with the ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively
The ability to manage multiple priorities in an ever changing environment and meet deadlines
