Rilwan Lukman, minister of petroleum, yesterday continued his shake-up of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), sacking six executive directors.
He, however, replaced them with new ones on acting capacity.
In a statement made available to BusinessDay the Group General Manager (Group Public Affairs) Levi Ajuonuma, disclosed that President Umaru Yar’Adua has approved the changes.
The out-going management team are: Ibrahim Waziri (Corporate Services); Onochie Anyaoku (Refining and Petrochemicals); Chris Ogiemwonyi (Exploration and Production); Shehu Ladan (Commercial and Investment); Olusola

Ayangbile (Engineering and Technology) and Stanley Lawson (Finance and Accounts).
They are being replaced by Acting Group Executive Directors namely, Attahiru Yusuf (Corporate Services); Augustine Oniwon (Refining and Petrochemicals); Philip Chukwu (Exploration and Production) and Aminu Babakusa (Commercial and Investment).
Others are: Faith Abiyesoku (Engineering and Technology) and Michael Arokodare (Finance and Accounts).
Ajuonuma quoted the Group Managing Director, Mohammed Barkindo, as saying the ongoing changes were in response to the “enormous challenges of survival and growth” of the Corporation.
Earlier changes in the organisation saw the exit of the former Group Managing Director, Abubakar Lawal Yar’Adua, earlier in the year.
