A new opportunity has opened up for an experienced Bakery Manager in our new bakery opening up at Abuja.

The Bakery Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the Bakery. Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the workers and resources of the Bakery for the efficient and profitable service of all products in the bakery.

Qualifications/Skills:
? Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science and Technology, Hotel and Catering Management, Business Administration or related course with a minimum second class lower qualification. Culinary or short courses in pie making, cake decoration, bread baking or any similar products will be an advantage.

Experience required:
At least five (5) years work experience in a similar position is desirable.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the manufacture/production of all bakery products to attain target revenues, with minimal waste, under stringent health and safety guidelines.
• Direct and coordinate activities involved with production, sale, and distribution of bakery products. Determines variety and quantity of bakery products to be produced, according to orders and sales projections through collaboration with the restaurants and the marketing function.
• Establish and manage distributor and third party retailer relationships towards maximizing revenues.
• Be actively involved in the day to day physical production of all bakery and related goods/products and services. Develops budget for bakery operation, utilizing experience and knowledge of current market conditions.
• Make recommendations for improvements to the current operation from the bakery operational aspect and with a view to improved efficiencies.
• Plan product distribution to customers, and work with the supply chain function to negotiate with suppliers to arrange purchase and delivery of bakery supplies.
• Investigate and respond to customer comments or complaints regarding food quality and safety.
• Relay strong leadership skills by creating a culture of accountability amongst staff.
• Develop and recommend improvements to existing recipe for bakery products such as cakes, breads, rolls, muffins, pies and other baked goods.
• Able to use baking equipments properly; adjusting oven settings; and supervising bakery staff, among others.
• Ensure full compliance to HACCP standards in the bakery operations.
