Job Title Innovation and Consumer Insights Manager
Reports to Sr. Vice President – Marketing (West and Central Africa)
Core Working Relationships Country Team (Nigeria & Ghana), Consumer & Trade Activation Manager (Nigeria & Ghana), Technical Team in Singapore
Accountabilities (Responsibilities)
• To develop the annual marketing plan (and the three year plan) including the marketing strategy.
_ Development of the ‘strategic vision’ for each brand, its consumer positioning/concept, the investment mix/budget and its place in the company’s portfolio.
• Develop deep, actionable consumer insights on brand, competition, usage and attitudes, and leisure pursuits.
• Responsible for commissioning, execution and presentation of findings of market research.
• Help develop advertising and evaluation.
• Help in media planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide platforms for ‘Trade’ & ‘Consumer Activation’
• Manage the development of design and pack changes.
• The management of A&P spends.
• NPD – Rhythm Chart planning and development of new products in time.
• To coordinate ad hoc cross functional projects.
• Continuously improve marketing processes.
Educational Business Management Graduate
Work Experience 5 years + after MBA with proficiency in consumer insight mining and market research

Technical Skills • Knowledge of basic marketing principles and processes:
_ Having a thorough knowledge of Agency Processes and the ability to select & manage them to deliver quality outputs in time: Ad agency, Design Agencies, Media agency, Research Agencies, etc.
_ Ability to develop strong Consumer Understanding through immersions and formal Market Research.
_ Strategic Thinking: Developing a ‘vision’; Converting business goals into marketing plans; Converting consumer insights into marketing ideas; Developing the annual marketing plan; Brand Equity Development & Management.
_ Developing Activity Plans.
• Analytical Skills : Identify issues and opportunities; Use of data (sales, media, research) to create detailed, fact based and logical arguments; Ability to present analysis and conclusions in a clear, structured manner; Understand Brand Performance from P&L.
• Ability to understand brand and market dynamics.
• Good Commercial Understanding : Review P&L; Manage A&P budgets and invoices; Identify Profitable and sub-optimal SKU’s and plan marketing strategies accordingly.
• Good Project Management Skills :
_ Set objectives, break projects to components, identify critical path, set time lines (thoroughly understand lead cycles) & responsibilities.
_ Manage day to day communication to ensure projects are progressing on time and on budget.
• Knowledge of the NPD Stage Gate process.

REMUNERATION: TBD
GENDER: Female (preferably) with a willingness to travel across Nigeria and Ghana for 10 days minimum every month. A good male candidate will also be okay.
