The Petroleum Technology Development Fund is inviting interested qualified Nigerians to apply for its M.Sc and PhD scholarships in Engineering, Geology, Sciences and Geosciences in Universities in the United Kingdom for the 2009/2010 session.


Application forms can be assessed online at www.ptdfnigeria.com/ptdf with a purchase of scratch card from designated mai branches of First Bank of Nigeria Plc. in all state capitals and FCT upon the payment of a NON-REFUNDABLE sum of N1,000 (One thousand naira only) or obtain a paper application form from secretaries of the State Scholarship Boards in all the states of the Federation and the FCT with a NON-REFUNDABLE Bank Draft in the same sum payable to Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Abuja.


MSC REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 2nd Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and Gas industry experience.
National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate
Applicants must be computer literate
Possession of O/level or credit in English Language in WAEC, GCE and SSCE.
Applicants must not be above 35 years of age.

Candidates without credit in English language as in (4) above but possess any of the following may apply.
Test of English language as a foreign language (TOEFL)
GRE (Graduate Record Examination)
GMAT for Management related courses.
International English language Testing system (IELTS)


PH.D REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess minimum of 2.1/upper credit or 2.2(with Oil and Gas industry experience) in first degree and a good 2nd degree certificate.
Aplicants must submit a research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than 5 pages) to include: Topic, introduction, objective, methodology and mode of data collection.
Applicants must include valid admission letter.
Applicants must not be over 40 years of age.
Applicats must include their masters' degree project.

In addition to the approved M.Sc courses, PhD applicants interested in undertaking reearch in the following areas may apply.
Geology and Petroleum Geology
Marginal Fields Development
Flow Assurance and Pipeline Geology
Civil and Marine Engineering
Envitonmental Studies and HSE (Health, Safety and Environment)
Renewable Energy.
Reservoir Engineering/ Production Technology.
Refining Technology.
Applied Geophysics
Ship Building and Marine Technology.

Note:
Recipients of similar scholarships from PTDF should not apply. All completed application forms are to be submitted at the State Scholarship Boards where there are purchased on or before 12TH NOVEMBER, 2008.

In due course, the names of the qualified candidates will be published in some national Dailies and invited for aptitude test in the case of MSc candidates, and interview in the case of PhD candidates.
