    Please House I need your help.

    A friend of mine just call me for advice.

    He got two job offers to resum next year.

    The first one is in a maritime company as a logistic coordinator here he will be paid #300,000 unfortunately he will not be practising his course - mech engr.

    On the other hand, He also got employed in a drilling company as a graduate trainee MWD to be paid #250,000 but will practice his course and have out door activties both companies resides in PH and have job prospect and security.

    So house which of these is better for him higher pay or to practise engineering.

    I will advise that your friend take up the drilling job. Reasons are that he will be practising in his chosen field, there is opportunity to grow and progress in his chosen discipline. There's also job security. This life is not all about money. Practising ur profession I tell u is more rewarding and fulfilling.

    I have always maintained that at some point in our career, money will no longer make sense if we can't find job satisfaction. There is nothing like practising what you studied. With time you become a . professional and a force to be reckoned with; by then you wouldn't have to work so much before the money flows in.

    @coolguy!
    As for your friend, let him pick up the drilling job. I believe he'll want to have his own firm in the nearest future. The field experience he'll get on the job will help a lot. His value in the industry will continue to appreciate as well.

    It is a very easy choice. Job satisfaction is the key word not money. He has opportunity to grow in the drilling company because he would be given world class training.He can work any where in the world. The only reason for not choosing the drilling company is if he doesn't enjoying practising what he studied. I wish him the best of luck.

    YEAH AS MUCH AS I AGREE WITH OTHER MEMBERS I MUST POINT THAT PRACTICING WHAT YOU READ IN SCHOOL DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN JOB SATISFACTION.

    OVER 90% OF NIGERIAN GRADUATES DID NOT REALLY GET PROPER COUNSELING BEFORE ENTERING THE UNIV.

    YOUR FRIEND SHOULD LOOK AT THE TWO JOBS AND DECIDE AT WHICH WILL HE BE MORE HAPPIER. AND AS FOR GROWTH, WITH BASIC BSc YOU CAN ALWAYS START A CAREER IN ANOTHER FIELD AND BEEF ENSURE CAREER GROWTH BY MAJORING IN YOUR POST GRADUATE STUDIES AND CERTIFICATION RELEVANT TO CAREER CHOICE.

    one must not earn a living from wat he or she studied...wat a university asically does is to assert u worthy in character and learning..ppl do switch careers...my major in school was purely natural science...but am seeing myself drifting into managerial, financial,enterpreneurial an ICT zone...and am cool-wit-it-like-coolguy...if u r good u r good thats the baseline...u wont find it hard to fit into anywhere.
