Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
Its so saddening,4 real..but u know life goes on..i dont want u 2 dwell too long on d disappointment...the unemployment rate in 9ja now makes employers treat job seekers anyhow...But then, stil value what u have, forge ahead, and dont stop striving.

Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
Guy take heart, i felt so bad, that people can make last mins decision without considering the impact of other. Have faith in the lord, we are in a Holy week tell it to God. it is well you would get a beta job, it is not who get first that count but who stay in the system
God is with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
Don't feel bad my Guy. Every disappointment is a blessing; I assure you it's a blessing in disguise. Keep unto the Almighty and always remember we can always turn lemon to lemonee. God is GREAT... Experience
-
Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
That was very bad, I wonder Y NIGERIAN FIRM depends so much on "PAPERS and CERTIFICATE" and ignoring what one can offer to them.
Experience is ones capability is far more better than "PAPERS and CERTIFICATE"

Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
U just take heart. In our employment system's decisions are taking without looking back on the effect it has on others. But u knw what, just forge ahead. I tell u that with God by ur side all is not over yet but u are about to experience a break through soon.Be strong and keep focus.
-
Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
That was unfair but u just have to move on. but one thing i dont undstand is what is the difference btw full time and part-time, they should chrck for what u can offer them not only ur certificate. But my guy one thing i can assure u is that IT IS WELL WITH UR SOUL...Cheers!

Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
Sorrry my dear, dont mind them, some of these employers can be so inhuman, imagine after 4 stages of interview. i understand but take heart God will turn it around to ur favour just pray. But I wonder why they didn't detect this even after these 4 stages. Habaaaaa!!! UBA pls pls and pls look into this is not fair.

Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
hi.
it is disappointing. However, disappointment is now the case. it is your response to. No matter what don't allow it get to you. Keep ur head up and God will see you through
-
Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
That was unfair of them considering the fact that u had scaled thru the interview processes before the new policy, otherwise will they now terminate the employment of those who had similar qualifications as yours? anyway just look ahead for better opportunities.
-
Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
Dear Ileke, its true this is disheartening but dont let it weigh u down. You have better things in future. God is your only help in these times. your own is just at the door. cheer up

Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
I have made everything easy in my manual that I titled "How to apply for Scholarship Abroad"
WHAT IS A SCHOLARSHIP?
A scholarship is an institution or a financial aid award for an individual student scholar, for the purpose of furthering their education.
Scholarships are awarded based on a range the criteria which usually reflect the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the award.
TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS.
Scholarships may be classified into these primary groups:-
MERIT:-This is a financial aids for which need is not used to determine the recipient.
The recipient may be determined by students, athletics, academic, artistic or other abilities.
NEED:- This is a financial aid for which the student and family's financial situation is a primary factor in determine the recipient.
Usually, such scholarship will cover all or part of the tuition and may even cover living costs.
SOCIOLOGY:- This is a financial aid where applicants must initially qualify by race, religion or national origin.
After filtering the applicants based on their ethnicity, additional factors are taken into consideration to determine the final recipient.
INSTITUTIONAL:- These are scholarships awarded by a specific college or university(institution) to a student planning to attend that institution.
GENERAL:- These are other scholarships awarded for a variety of reasons that do not fall into one of the above categories.
Some scholarships have a "bond" requirement. Recipients maybe required to work for a particular employer for a specified period of time or to work in rural or remote areas otherwise, they may be required to repay the value of the support they received from the scholarship.
Similarly, some non-profit organization like Rotary International, Labor Unions and houses of worship may award scholarships.
Scholarships are quite different from students are education loan .Scholarship are free and need not be repaid back.
Some foreign countries offer tuition free university education to students from developing countries. A particular university in the United States offers 100% tuition free education to students from developing countries. You mat contact us for details about these opportunities which are quite different from international scholarships.
LOOKING FOR SCHOLARSHIP ABROAD
Financial assistance is available from some international bodies.
Institutions of higher education and Public/Private organizations also offer several types of financial assistance to students ranging from full scholarships covering tuition fess, living expenses and travel expenses to tuition reduction and student loans.
As can be imagined, the competition for scholarships and grants is extremely strong and there are strict academic requirements.
Some institutions offer financial assistance to qualifying students who are accepted to the institution or to students already enrolled who show good academic result after a first year at the institution and his is also worthwhile looking into when applying to an institution of higher education.
Before you apply for any scholarship, you are strongly advised:
1. To make sure you must meet the requirements
2. Complete the application form accurately with appropriate supporting sources that will strengthen your application.
3. Make use of reputable references or ask for character references from reliable sources.
4. Make sure your application is legible and understandable.
5. Take note of the application deadline and make sure you don't submit late application.
6 When seeking for scholarships, be very careful and beware of SCAMS. Studying abroad and scholarship opportunities are advantages that has long been in existence but which many were not aware of.
All these information are for you, which you can also share with your family, friends, and your colleagues. There, you see various types of scholarships and how to apply for them.

Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
I had a similar experience but with MTN. I had a phone interview, was subsequently called for an aptitude test and then two interviews after-wards. 3months later, after I had almost lost hope I received a phone call from MTN congratulating me that I got the job. They even told me my salary and other allowances. I received the call on a thursday and was asked to come for the employment letter the monday after only to receive another call tne next day(friday) that I should hold-on for a while. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THOSE HEARTLESS PEOPLE TILL TODAY(about 3yrs after).THIS IS NIGERIA. But thak God I got a job with the NNPC shortly after.
So poster I believe God has better plans for you. Just keep your flag flying. :)

Re: I WAS TURNED BACK @ UBA TRAINING SCHOOL
supereagle, na wa o.ur story is really sympathetic.
i got a call yesterday that it was a mistake on the part of those giving the letter that day but they are nt bold enof to call me back cos their GMD wont hear that.Imagine. so i ws refused cos of someones inability to get instructions.
i was told that the policy says 'dont take exemption from those above 30 years not exclusion from those who did part time and less than 30. am 26 but yet i was affected.
wat do u think?am considering taking it up. how do i get a good lawyer?
