AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
Can some ONE PLS explain 2 me why afribank employment is monopolized by ABGA POEPLE. could it be that the owner of d bank is Igala? But even if that is true, I expect some fair deal in a bank recruitment process. not as bad as afribank recruitment going on now in Abuja is.They call 96% of Igala people those that took the test 4 inteview. What do u think?
-
Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
At the venue of the test, at women centre, Abuja on 14/07/09. You we wonder if Afribank only invited them alone 4 d test, everywhere was full of Agba people. And to make the matter worse, as cheap as the test was, it was only the same people that passed and were called 4 the interview. What is Afribank turning to? A one tribe bank or other staff from other tribe in d bank dont have jobless relatives that they can strugle to get them in?
However, i am stil marvel at afribank the way they are loosing focus on their employment produre.
If am wrong, may i be corrected. More than have of there staff in Abuja that i can see are IGALA. What happening 2 Afribank?I feel bad bcos am 100% sure I pass the test and I was never called 4 interview. Imagine that!! >:(

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
Hi Guy.
May it be that you are saying this bcs u are not call 4 d interview.
I can tell u that those that were called 4 d interview are those that pass d test.
If u are talking about sentiment, I wrote Equitorial Bank test last time & I passed. Up till now, the interview that I was called which was eventually postponed couldnt come up till now.
Can i say that i was not taken bcs i am not related 2 Adenuga jnr?
Pls my friend, U are also sentimental.
Dont b bias.

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
I do not know why some of us in this house use sentiments on issues expecially when we are not favoured.I am an Abga person as you called us,I wrote the test with you there and then.I think I am even more confident that I passed the test than you are but like you,I was not invited for the interview and I do not look at it from your angle.come to think of ,you might have passed the test but your score is not upto those that were called or stuffs like that.some of us in the house wrote 1st bank test and were confident we passed it but was'nt called we did not term it anything.I am not saying my people are not many there but why can't you view it 4rm the angle of merit or is that how dull you take us?If you were not invited for the interview this time, there might be another 1 after this or the job is not your.your's is on the way.Just pray over it and there will come begging 4 you 2 chose.

Tribalism is the song in nigeria today. All those yeye bank policies are often wave away everyday to favour their children and family.they wl advertise vacant job of age 24yrs,bt they take their relatives who are 27yrs.

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
@Manager200 Let me give you the beneit of doubt that your observation / allegation against Afribank is true but what I want you to know is that Afribank is not the only organisation you can work in, there are several other better ones out there and when it is your time to shine by the grace of God, even the president of Nigeria or United State of America cannot stop you. Don't be depressed and have faith in God, keep on trying as your time will surely come.
wishing you the best that is yet to come.

Guy there is reason why you should say Afribank will kill anybodys career, how will you feel if you got a job somewhere and someone came and told you that the company you are in will kill your career??? True tribalism is going on in Nigeria now, but that's simply because people dont have faith in the country anymore, so they just want to consolidate their tribe before nigeria breaks apart, so I suggest you seek out a way to enlarge your caost because worrying will not solve the problem my brother, that is what our fathers gave to us, we eaither take it or got to war, and we dont want war so...

Nigeria is eventually going to slpit and everyone will go to his fathers land, yoruba, hausa and igbo, I can see it clearly now, its not just one tribe that is guilty, EVERY tribe is!!! There is a serious tribal consciousness going on now, people dont believe this country will continue as one for long, so everyone is trying to consolidate his/her tribe, religion, ethnic group, race, and anything that interests them. Sure I know its a bad foundation they are laying for "us" the youths but you guys have to think about it, we need to get to where they are before we can make any change, or is there any other way around it??? Its bad, but really aint much we can do about it, Northerners have used politics and our oil to consolidate there territory, westerners have joined suit, so the easterners have just woken from their slumber, its a war now, God help us all :) :) :)

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
Where are you from that you are sounding this sentimental? Have you gone round the banks and companies owned and managed by other people especially the Yorubas to see how they do their recruitment? Yorubas are worst in recruiting their people into positions. If an Igala man has an opportunity to help his people, then he's nice. The Yorubas are doing it. Hausas are doing it. So what's the noise about this? And I'm pretty sure that you didn't score anything near the pass mark.

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
I agreed with you 100% that our country turn to another thing. With this, I don't think we can move forward. The deserve ones suppost to be given what tey deserve for and leave the other ones to find their rightful jobs. You should not worry God Almighty will find the best for you and all the common Nigerians that have not connection anywhere because He is a sleeping God.

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
Manager,be like say you and these other people too dey listen to Dora on rebranding.
I wrote first bank test in abuja, was invited for interview and told i was succesful. The people that i hrd were invited for training were all northerners, some didnt even do interview!
I also applied to diamond bank but i am nt ibo.
The only place where 'my peolpe' abound are immigration, union bank and some oil company and thats where i am hoping.I advise you to do the same or struggle for the advancement of your kindred!
But to complain here or anywhere else is to prolong your problems.

let people air the complains here or anywhere.do you think employers are not reading naijahotjobs website?.they read it,i have evidence for this.
If we jointly say any negative comment on an organization,it's really count negatively for them on social responsibilities.it's a issue that pain a member,it's absolutely cal 4 sober reflectiön.

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
GOING THROUGH EVERY ONES REPLY IT IS JUST SHOWS THAT EVEN ON THIS TOPIC TRIBALISM IS STILL TAKEN PLACE TAKE. FOR EXAMPLE THE ABGA PEOPLE (THE IGALA) CAN SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BANK(AFRIBANK) HAVE 95% OF ITS STAFF FOR IGALA BCOS THERE PEOPLE ARE GETTING EMPLOYED ???, THE YORUBAS NO NEED COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM WITH ETB,GLO,CONOIL IS THEIR WAY OF LIFE :(. BUT THE GOOD THING IS THAT TRIBALISM IS A VICE NOT A VIRTURE SO PEOPLE SHOULD SMILE WHEN THE ENCOUNTER SUCH. BCOS NO VICE GOES ON PUNISH BY GOD. MY PAINS IS EVEN IN THE HOUSE OF GOD A PRIEST CAN BE PREACHING FOR THE EXISTENCE OF BIAFRA WHILE ANOTHER FOR NIGERIA AND THEY WHEN ORDAINED BY THE SAME GOD EVERYONE IS SUPPORTING BUT IS WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
Guys.
Full stop.
We cant change our names on our certificates to suit tribe and religion.
Let progress now,we have raised issue and all have contributed enough.we know those who are biase on the issue.the fact remains that there's no tribe who is not guilty,bt we must condemn the bad attitudes on jobs placement.
FULL STOP.
It is never unlucky to back if u r on the wrong way.
House.it's ok.

Re: AFRIBANK RECRUITMENT SENTIMENT
The point still remains that tribalism is the trend in Nigeria now, and the sooner we clinge to our various tribes the better it will be for us, because this Federal thing has expired, and although I want to believe in aunty Dora's rebranding thingy ;D I cant help to worry that it might not just work out at the endy :) But anyway, Tribalism according to one of our great fore fathers, is a vital tool for economic development... Well the truth is when you are a victim of tribalism, it hurts ???, but when you are a beneficiary, its sweet ;D but what can we "the youths" do??? we are not yet in charge, and therefore can't call the shorts, so I guess we just have to play along and hope for the best!
