Our client a major player in the food industry requires a suitable candidate for the position of Head, Transport & Logistics to drive the company’s Transport and Logistics Network within Nigeria and across West Africa sub-region. This is a Senior Management Role and so requires persons with not less than fifteen years relevant experience.

In this role, the person is to ensure the effective management of the company’s fleet of over 500 trucks and ensure efficient and cost effective delivery of finished products to customers across Nigeria and West Africa sub-region.

Key responsibilities:

To coordinate daily loading activities and deliveries carried out by fleet officers

To track and monitor movement of trucks to and from the factories

Fully responsible for spare parts ordering and availability

Fully responsible for fleet maintenance and warehousing

Fully accountable for product availability to sales team and market

Fully accountable for product distribution

Supervision of all transport related activities in the factory

Coordinate and inspect the licensing of all trucks

Maintaining full responsibility for supply chain function and logistics management

Requirements

A first degree in social sciences, humanities, engineering or any related discipline.

15 years in similar function, 5 of which should have been at a senior management level.

Membership of the National Institute of Transport & Logistics is desirable.
