I just received same letter just now from them, Shell is really an heart break, what an unprofesional way of recruiting i used to respect shell now i don't think they are well trained on how to conduct recruitment exercise. No regards for people feelings, it is too bad to have raised ones hope only to dash it to the wind. I had a project i was suppose to have got my self involved to at least put a little money in my pocket, because it was suppose to last for a whole month and it is still ongoing, i decided to back out so i can make every preparation to write the test, hoping i will be invited since i was shortlisted. But this is worse than an hearth break. i wasn't just denied a chance to take the test but the chance to make some cool money for man to survive, and groove on. Well all hope is not lost this is good bye to shell and anything that has to do with them. in the future i don't think i will ever apply for anything that concerns shell. It would have been better if my status was regretted from the beginning, at least i would have gotten the money and experience for that job. Any way GOODBYE SHELL. U cannot kill my hope, i will always make it with or without getting shell job, and maybe one i will buy shell and sell in pieces.
To all my folks in the house thanks for your advise and update, at least it help to ease the stress, i wouldn't have imagine my self in PH and not allowed to take the test. in that case i would have lost my flight fare in addition to this disappointment. If there is any one working in shell reading my thread, try and understand that this is the worse disappointment i have received since my job search begin, and please call the attentions of your boss and those in charge of this local opportunities recruitment to this post and please advise them not to try on of this rubbish ever again, I even called the shell Nigeria phone numbers and couldn't get any useful response when this confusion was looming in the house, that is very unprofessional Well BYE everyone.

it is well with you. Though my status hasnt changed, & am still to get an invite, i feel the pain of the both of u who got the heart wrenching mail. You mustn't lose your faith in God, and in yourself. HE knows the end from the beginning, and HE still in control.

It is well. Though my status hasn't changed, & still no invite; i feel you & power44's pain. Still you mustn't lose your faith in God, and in your potentials. Dry your tears, hold firm to God, and look to the future with the hope that God never fails. Take heart !

@Power44,Everyone whose status has been regretted,it's hard but please take heart,move on&don't take anything negative from this experience
i know you are hurt but do you know what would have happened to you if you had travelled to write the test or embarked on your seemingly profitable project......everything happens for a reason&God knows you so much that He knows what to do to make you miss a tragedy......i'm not a pastor in fact so far from it but could it be that if you had travelled,that would have been the last journey you would ever make.could it be that an accident would have happened during the course of your project&God knows that the only way He can make you miss it is to make you get shortlisted knowing that you would want to prepare for the test and forget the project.
Friends,i was also shortlisted&have been preparing to the extent that i took ill&was hospitalized for about a week&i'm just recurperating but still i haven't gotten any invite.Let's look on the bright side.i believe God has everything all planned out for our good,He is the one orchestrating our lives.Let's just do our part&trust Him to do the part we can't do.Don't give up,anything can still happen,it's not over till it's over.
