Topic: Ptdf applications deadline(31/10/2011) is unfair to phd applicants

I feel very bad I could not register for PhD scholarship with PTDF because of the short deadline. Many schools offer phD admission in 6weeks to 10weeks. PTDF just announced their scholarship within a deadline of 3wks. No international scholarship is run like that. This isn't job application! Take a look at commonwealth and chevening, shell niger delta and a host of others. application deadline takes as much as 3months because they know you need a bit of time to get admission offers.

I only hope they will have compassion on us so that the scholarship administrator will open the application page for extra one or two weeks. I am just about receiving my admission letter from my school- UCL. That way all eligible Nigerians can take a shot at it. PTDF hear my plea!

I agree with you 100%. it is really unfair. this is what you get when unqualified people occupy a position meant for learned people. I basically was discouraged when i saw the deadline, cos i knew it was not possible to secure admission before then, considering that you have to writ a proposal before u are offered admission
