Nigerian AGIP Exploration Limited 2012/2013 Post Graduate Scholarship Award Scheme

Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited (NAE), on behalf of the NNPC/NAE/OANDO PSC, is committed to the training and development of manpower as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
In pursuance of this NAE invites application from suitably qualified and interested Nigerian graduates for the 2012/2013 Post Graduate Scholarship Award Scheme in two categories - Nigerian and Overseas.
1. ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for consideration applicants MUST:
Possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Bachelor's degree from a recognized Nigerian university.
Have secured admission into either a Nigerian or Overseas University (based on the category being applied for) for a one year Master's degree programme in any of the disciplines listed below.
Not be above 30 years of age by December 2012.

2. COURSE OF STUDY
Only candidates offered admission to study in areas related to the underlisted courses should apply
* Geosciences
* Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Sub Sea, Electrical, Marine, Chemical)
* Petroleum Economics
* Oil and Gas Law

:mad: What is this? Agip scholarship? Wat a life. These guys conducted aptitude test at nigeran law school, lagos and till this moment that I'm typing, the result of the exam has not been released. Infact they just forgot about the whole thing. These guys are fraudsters, pretending to be giving scholarship when they are not. Please I need someone to attest to this. Thanks. It's up to you, if you like you apply and if you don't like don't apply, but the bottom line is Agip didn't award any overseas scholarship last year, I don't know about the local.

It is wrong to conclude generally. One of my friends benefited from their skolaship for MSc in d UK, Mech Engr.

Agip might be awarding scholarship but it's definitely not transparent because no one hears from them after the so called test.

Guys, in Agip Oil company (I mean all the affiliates of Agip), everything is coded. Those guys purposely advertise their recruitment and scholarship publicly because the Nigerian law that they are bound with, else they wouldn't have done any because they always conclude such processes before the advert comes. They abandoned the scholarship last year, you can imagine the manner their staff were busy taking photographs of the scene (mocking scholars & entire Nigerians). Just apply after all you've got nothing to lose if it doesn't work except your transport.

If all y'all are saying is true, then they should be looked into and ascertain their affairs in relation to the postgraduate scholarship stuff! The last thing we need in this country is a continuous increase in the number of scams and cons.

Agip scholarship is real. am presently a benefactor for the local scheme last year.

I saw the advert in the papers today. Ive decided not to apply again. I have taken this test twice and have not heard of anyone that got the scholarship. These guys are scammers

You are right. I and some of my very intelligent friends sat for their scholarship exam in 2010. They called none of us. I got to find out later that those that were offered the scholarship got it through the back door. AGIP does not run transparent scholarship/recruitment operations. If you do not reside in Lagos and you don't have a strong connect in AGIP, don't waste your time to sit for the exam.

Please what was the nature of the test last year? Computer based or manual? And which kind of question/format

hmmmmmm......Agip INTERNATIONAL Scholarship....I cant talk authoritatively, but from my experience and a whole lot of friends list, this scholarship has a lot of shady things around it. the scheme does exist and each year, 'people' get the award. but the usual is, you write the test, wait until the following year only to see another advert without any knowledge of how the previous year's own ended.
however, let's be frank about it. you lose nothing by making the application. going for the test is a different thing. but at least, apply!

Simple secret on how to get Agip International Scholarship......

Go to the global eni website, there are a lot of schools (good ones) in Italy including the prestigious eni corporate university which has links to IFP France...

By getting the admission to any of those universities connected to eni, your name would be forwarded to the eni group in your country and gbam....the scholarship is yours.

And remember this, Agip doesn't waste money sending people for studies- you come back to work for them. Actually you would be under a bond to work for them for 24 Months before you can leave..

Dont start asking me unnecessary questions, go to Eni's website to verify some of the info. If you can, try it next year cos I guess admission into the Italian schools are over for the year.

I am not saying Agip doesn't award international scholarships to other schools but this is the surest way to get an Agip scholarship and a job with Agip.

Dont blame them, it's their style - they are italians - mafias!

That's not true. I have friends that were sponsored by Agip for their MSc programmes, and they were not under any bond to work for Agip. In fact, after they finished their programmes, they had to appealed to Agip to recruit them, and till date Agip has not recruited them. This is not hear say, this is a fact.

As a beneficiary of both Naijahotjobs archive of information and Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) Ltd Post graduate scholarship, I feel I am "duty bound'' to set some records straight.

1. The scholarship programme is very real as I benefited from the 2010 edition of the programme. Just because you don't know anyone that won or someone you know didn't win is not enough reason to dispel it as a scam; there are more than a million graduates out there and there are chances you don't know upto a thousand of them.

2. The programme is the least cumbersome of all the tests I did before leaving the country. The test and the test only is all you need to win the scholarship. No second test, no interview, no medicals, no nothing just the test. It's like a lottery, you just receive a call from one of their officials that you won and he/she will send you details of the award ceremony.

3. on a less important note, they even give you 5 grand as transport fare.

Please note that all my above assertions are based on my 2010 experience which might have changed now. My Humble advice: go for the test and give it all your best.. you never can tell..


P.S. I'm not a frequent surfer of NHJ anymore, thus I might not reply your questions and comments on time.

I still maintain that the surest way to get an agip scholarship and a agip job is to apply to their Italian schools. For your information, the scholarship is not advertised so majority of the guys who get it are either agip staffs or guys who are close enof to get the info.

It's the easiest and surest way to get an agip scholarship bcos there's little or no competition.

Secondly you are guaranteed a job after the Masters programme it ITALY.
Pits not meant to discourage you guys but for guys who feel the advertised scholarship was impossible to get, I gave an alternative.

You can verify this info from anyone you think can give more insight.

International.....Please note, during application, you all apply for international ab initio. However, your performance determines what you'll get..Best three- International, next ten-Local....Like I said earlier, all based on my 2010 experience

Unfortunately sir, Most of your assertions above are wrong....No admission to any Italian school automatically gives you the scholarship...As a matter of fact, None of the 2010 awardees went to any Italian school...so stop misinforming the house....

At a time when Italians are leaving their own country in search of green pasture, it is absolutely wrong to think schooling in Italy gives you automatic job, it is a complete fallacy...FYI, Italy is a glorified Nigeria in term of unemployment...I was in Italy for a couple of months, have Italians as friends and colleagues, so I have some Authority on this.

i never said Italian scholarship is same with the advertised one being discussed on this wall. Like I told you, the scholarship is never advertised. Even those who returned from Italy last year started work after 2 months. I agree you are an uthority on the scholarship you got but you are totally ignorant of what I'm talking about so don't be in a hurry to talk when you know nothing about it. Italy might be a poor country in your eye but they produced eni just like France ( although far better than Italy). I guess you have the ability to log on to www.eni.it. Click on job seekers and in turn "eni and the universities"?.
