Ethnan, you are blessed. What I can only say is, this is just your stepping stone. You will not spend long time there. Oil & Gas is so tough to enter without experience in that industry is not like bank. This is best decision you have taken, leave banks, bankers are endangered species currently, in fact some landlords no longer their houses to bankers in Lagos. This is to correct yourself, with 2/3 years your real value will come out like diamond that is fully refined/polished.

I like what JajaMark is doing. And God will bless him. Some Engineering Graduates that started with very very poor paying oil servicing companies, today they are in Chevron, Shell, and Mobil. There is dearth of manpower in the Oil and gas. If Jajamark starts a Drilling Engineer with say Drillog, in next 5 years if Mobil wants experienced drilling Engineer, they would come for jajamark.
Father, son, daughter can all work in same Govt office, there is no law banning it, even FBN and Union bank still do it. Many people worked as father and son in NPA and still working.
Nigeria is gifted, advertise for 2,000 truck drivers in Sweden, you might not get up to 50, but here you can get 10 drivers attached to a truck. Someone beat me to this argument in feb this year.
I have said it here without numbers, if you people are talking of test –fine (very objective). There is a lot of subjectivity in interview. You don’t know what the panellist are looking for beyond knowledge and I leant there was a marathon psychometric forms that you all filled before the presentation and interview.
I have been on an interview panel, I can tell. You need God’s favour honestly. You might answer questions very well and bold and 2 people on the panel might say, that guy is pompous and arrogant. That brings you down in a very tight competition. I gave example with mine way, they said I argue too much. My mentor told that I have to learn from that experience and that experience has shaped me greatly till date.
Honestly, I want this 2^nd batch, because many people’s cases here have touched me and I am even getting emotional about them. Even at that not all here, will make it. This is the reality of life. JFK Kennedy, in the 60’s said “Life is unfair”. Why do some people have to be born into wealth/Royalty while some into poverty? Prince Charles is born into royalty and did not need to work for it.

God is my witness,based on my experience,this exercise was(is) largely free and fair,though its hard to have it 100% free and fair anywhere in the world like some people have said.I DO NOT KNOW ANYBODY ANYWHERE THAT COULD HAVE HELPED ME AT ALL.I HAD A FIRST CLASS IN ELECTRICAL ENGR,AND A MASTERS.11 YEARS EXPERIENCE,OF WHICH 6YRS WAS IN THE BANK. APART FROM BEING REASONABLY OK DURING THE INTERVIEW,I REALIZED I HAD FAVOUR WITH THE PANELISTS,AND NOT BECAUSE I GAVE THEM ANYTHING,OR THAT I KNOW ANY OF THEM. IT WAS SO CLEAR THAT THEY JUST WANTED ME IN ANYHOW! BUT I TRUSTED GOD FROM THE BEGINNING.I WAS FASTING AND PRAYING,MY FRIENDS WERE PRAYING,MY PASTORS WERE PRAYING,MY BELOVED WIFE WAS PRAYING. TRULY,FOR ME,NNPC IS ONLY A SEED TO FAST TRACK MY IDEAS. ONE VIABLE IDEA CAN GIVE YOU SO MUCH TO BUY NNPC. THINK OF FACEBOOK! 5 YEARS ON MY OWN HAVE BEEN GREAT AND TOUGH BUT ITS PAYING OFF WONDERFULLY! TURNING DOWN 4 BANK OFFERS WHEN YOUR FAMILY IS HUNGRY IS NOT EASY,UNLESS YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO AND WHO IS BEHIND YOU. WE CAN ALL START FROM SOMEWHERE.

@Muffeh. Is it technical GTs or non-technical GTs that'll work in the mega stations. And from his speech, could u either directly or indirectly deduce anything on 2nd batch or subsequent lists been released? I will Appreciate your response. Thank You

I don't see anything wrong in this. To run a mega station is no joke. The opportunities and business far greater than sitting in one office.

While All the managers of nnpc mega stations are ppmc staff,the pump handlers are not staff.that is how it works.

@kalokalo, please what constitutes NNPC RETAIL, is it the same thing as being in mega station and which category of staff work in the nnpc retail, as in technical, non-technical, or anybody at all....?

Hello house,it has been some days now since i visited this thread.The reason is that i discovered the impossibility of the so called 2nd batch.Let us be realistic to ourselves pls.GMD's speach this morning attested to no more list is coming in connection to this recruitment.Even though iam,but i feel somehow whenever i remember some of this thread members that are not with us.

People just believe that Nigeria cannot change –hence there feeling that thosecalled may have influenced their employment.
They should have noticed especially in GT that almost allcalled where 1^st class graduates!
Even a jr colleague that rejected the offer is a very skilledchap with 1st class in electrical!
