    @ shampoo,i will agree with you on this.rumor has it that the former GMD is a straight forward person,people from his hometown find it hard to get favour from him.however,that does not mean he doesnt help others or people under him did not.shortly after he was sent on compulsory leave,a lot heppened to d original list.this is from a very reliable source.though some people got the offer on merit basis,i can tell you that names were swapd.i am a living witness.it is baseless at this point to argue,since the deed has been done.on the average,NNPC tried.

    And as you should know by now, slots are reserved in these kind of high level recruitments for principal officers of the Federation. Or are you saying if the Office of The Senate President for example has been allocated 10 slots that he would care if the person was even in Africa when you did the aptitude test? He will certainly get his letter before you. Such people don't come here to rigmarole with 'nobodies' like us (if I may say). They pick up their phones and call directly who is responsible and get instant feedback! And don't rule out the factor of a very minute amount here having enough 'leg' to influence it and subsequently just telling you they were successful. Do you know the means to their successful end? And as rightly said, that he didn't help you doesn't mean he didn't help others. And it also doesn't mean that those at HR did not 'do their thing' too. Credible? To some extent, but not as much as we've come to believe it to be.

    @JESUS ARMY, with all due respect, dat you work with the GMD does not mean that your relationship with him is strong enough as to compel him to break the rules to fix u in. Though there may have been a reasonable level of transparency in the process, that is not to say that there were no serious manipulations here & there. I tell you,without ur knowledge, he(the GMD) most certainly may equally done exactly the same favour to some other person or persons depending on his relationship with them. I equally tell you that there are quite a few number of persons got this NNPC job strictly through referals (or recommendation) and they never even applied for it during the application period(especially in the EH cadre). It may well interest you to know that soon you'll find out that there are also few individuals with very high contact who were never around all through the entire recruitment process but have already been offered appointment letters. If u can, just keep tab during the induction as all these will unfold during the course interaction at the induction stage. PLS & PLS, i speak in respect of findings in the EH cadre only. The OP & GT case might have been different.

    Section 2 (7) of the FOI Act 2011 defines
    public institutions thus: “Public institutions
    are all authorities whether executive,
    legislative or judicial agencies, ministries,
    and extra-ministerial departments of the
    government, together with all corporations
    established by law and all companies in
    which government has a controlling
    interest, and private companies utilizing
    public funds, providing public services or
    performing public functions.”

    Please, its either this Anthony Madichie man doesn't like his job, or he's made enough to retire. Is he saying that at least, government does not have a controlling interest in NNPC? I am sure this reply was put forth with the courage that he would'nt be challenged, that the publisher of that article will not pursue his cause. I pray he gets the surprise of his life. Those who go about flaunting the law and hiding behind the precepts of the jargon involved in law have no place in this society if we indeed want a shift from status quo.

    NNPC should stop this very lengthy process. Lecturers who release their results in time experience minimal pressure from students but those who release 3, 4, 5 months are waiting for students.... I had a prof, Professor Kuye, write his exams in the morning in the evening the result is in door (pasted) in computer print back in those days. Any mago mago has to be inside hall. Now WAEC and JAMB are releasing on time, any mago mago has to be inside hall. Meeting officials after exams has been minimised. Whenever a process is lengthy it creates room for speculations, corruption, bribery, influence and otherwise.
    Also it helps bring closure to those who will never be in the list.
