You cannot come and tell us that only "a very few persons made it through the interview" unless you are (1) HR staff of the NNPC or (2) A management of its equivalent in the NNPC. A YEAR AND MONTHS GONE, NNPC AND DPR 2010/2011 RECRUITMENTS STILL INCONCLUSIVE
In recent times the recruitment campaigns of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have been mired with inadequacies either in the form of outright abandonment (as in the case of the 2008 campaign) or unexplained delays as witnessed with the current 2010 recruitment. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), a sister organization seems to have joined the fray by delaying successful candidates whose names have hitherto been released about a year ago. For organizations which play such central roles in the nation's petroleum industry and by extension, the economy, these recruitment stalemates ought to have been resolved. However, those who are supposed to be answering questions concerning these stalled recruitment exercises have decided to keep mute as if under some oath of secrecy. If public corporations of such standing, which should naturally be the paragons of administrative excellence could treat matters as important as recruitments with such pettiness, where lies the hope of the Nigerian youth at the mercy of private organizations?
In March 2010, the Department of Petroleum Resources advertised various recruitment positions in the establishment in the national dailies through Eraproserve, a consulting firm. Qualified graduates applied and were invited for aptitude test across the nation. Those who passed the aptitude test were subsequently invited for interviews. Thereafter, the list of successful candidates was displayed at Federal Character Commission(FCC). That was (please put the number of months) months ago, and was the last bit of official information the successful candidates had concerning the recruitment.
Also, in November, 2010, the hope of many Nigerian graduates was raised with the advertisement of a recruitment campaign by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC . This was a period when political campaigns were at the centre stage for the 2011 elections. The job advert was made public with a large number of applications in four categories namely: Graduate Trainee, Trainee Operators, Experience Hire and Contractors. Applications were made till the advert expired December 31, 2010. The corporation in conjunction with their partnering recruiment consultants- Phillips consulting limited, invited thousands of qualified candidates to an aptitude/skills test which was held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at various centres across the country. Subsequent to the release of the result for the aptitude test, candidates were invited for interviews as usual at the NNPC towers, Abuja between July and August, 2011 . However, at the moment, the NNPC has not published the names of the successful candidates as required by the Federal Character Commission act (please state the relevant sections), neither have they reimbursed these candidates who took the risk to attend the interviews in a period when the national security situation was very sensitive.
There is no doubt that, the NNPC and DPR have one of the best recruitment processes in Nigeria. However of what use is a recruitment process if after the investment of so much funds, efforts, and hopes it is not concluded? Even with the engagement of the best human resource consultants at the expense of the Nigerian taxpayer, these recruitments would only pass as a high level charade and conspiracy against Nigerians, if not concluded with transparency. With the way things are going now, it is becoming very hard for one to come to terms with the issue of youth employment which is been harped by the current administration. The Nigerian 2010/2011 NNPC/DPR online forum hereby wants to remind his Excellency, President Goodluck Jonathan of his promise to fully implement the job creation committee's recommendations. In the words of the president at the first ever presidential summit on job creation, "This government will seize the opportunities that abound in the agricultural and downstream petroleum sectors of the economy to engage the country's youths productively so they don't become prey for mischievous elements". Your excellency sir, this is the time to make good that promise.
A lot has happened that gives room for suspicion of some hidden agenda on the part of those in charge of these recruitment. In Feburary 2012, many organisations and MDA's defended their 2012 annual budgets on the floor of the national assembly . The Minister of petroleum resources, - Mrs. Diezani Alison Madueke (who oversees these two organisations) defended the huge budget of her ministry comprising N51,324,227,840.00 for recurrent expenditure, and N8,340,300.00 for completion of ongoing capital projects. According to her the huge recurrent expenditure was due to various reasons including an impending recruitment process. It is therefore astounding that four months after that defence, the NNPC/ DPR recruitments have not been concluded. As it stands now, the DPR and NNPC recruitments for the year 2010, has spanned for periods of twenty seven and ninteen months respectively. This piece is therefore borne out of a growing concern, predicated on the insidious demise of the NNPC 2008 recruitment campaigns
In conclusion, this medium is a call on all relevant bodies, agencies and government; the National Assembly, the Federal Characters Commission, NNPC and DPR boards , National Human Rights Commission, the Nigeria Labour Congress and the presidency to inquire into this ugly precedent being set by the NNPC and DPR in their recruitments. This is a very important way for the president and leadership of this nation to justify the confidence reposed in them by the NIgerian youth evidenced in their election into the positions they now occupy by grace.

I would want to suggest this piece goes as just an article in as many newspapers as possible. @ bebrief already has a piece serving as "open letter to the president" (check our facebook and twitter pages to read it). By the time this article is published, and the open letter follows, a lot of dust would have been stirred.
However for the purpose of thoroughness, I want to suggest that @bebrief removes such personal words like "yours sincerely" in the second paragraph to reflect the corporate nature of our course. The part that has "felow Nigerians" should read: "Mr. president" since it will be so addressed.
Most importantly, even as we pray for the successful completion of this process, let's remember that- "food wey sweet, na money kill am"..If we dont pay towards the publication of the open letter, all these efforts would have been in vain..Lets match our words with actions.......God bless us

In the concluding this write up should be directed to the president to come to our aid as we see him as the only solution too this problem.
I also notice that there has not been any contribution in legal terms even if it cant be sustaciated are there no lawyers in the house?
Also i want us to put this write up on the naira site so we can stimulate other ppl to contribute maybe adding one or two other ministry to this chain of scam.
Finally i will advise that whatever the heading maybe the word SCAM must be use to gain the largest audience for the publication. We all know the reaction of average Nigerian to the word SCAM, and making NNPC look like synonyms for SCAM will get us audience we desire.
