A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

the incidents of the past week,is sincerely sad and calls for a sober reflection on the state of infrastructure in our nation.
these infrastucture can only be manned and maintained by a progressive workforce.
the rot in the oil industry is as a result of the low standards in the work force.
we have called off the protest, but even if it had held,it would have failed or made low impact.
with time on our side now,it is important that we strategise on how to make the protest, have impact.
i spoke with some brethen in the human rights and labour community, and these are some things we did not do.
1) we need to be organized..as in a name, a contact address and clear line of leadership.(a headless org is a monster)
2) we need to inform the police, the state security service and the NNPC mgt through correspondence of the protest.(be sure it would get the presidencys attention thereafter)
3) we need to sensitise the public,by creating awareness via television, radio and newspapers 0f thr problem and planned protest.(talk shows,kaakaki,etc)
4) we need to elicit the support of human rights activist to support and speak at the rally,...femi falana,olisa agbakoba,mike ozekhome,etc
5) we need to meet and create departments and directorates (contact persons) to handle the different areas.
6) a world press conference on the day of the protest, at the NUJ lighthouse in ogba.
7) branded shirts, flags, banners and posters.
public address system.....batteries etc
9) clear cut journey mgt....commencement and closing
the intent is to pass a mesasgae in a simple but effective manner

I really appreciate you JA , but if we are to go with all your suggestions, this thing fit tey oo. However, we can pick some of the suggestions.
Someone has volunteered to make branded shirts available, even if they dont go round, it shouldnt be an issue. As for involving activists/Labour unions, that again can/should be sorted out ASAP.
However, the issue of having an office, leaders, press conferences, television and radio adverts etc are superflous and will only delay us at the end of the day. I think what we should be thinking of how monday is gonna be- the time, meeting venues, and coordinators. My 2cents.

I think i'm impressed and completely in support of Kafox's contribution. Kudos to ya. Monday is d day. I'm in ijebuode area of ogun state, planed to be in abuja 4 d protest 2days ago bt unfortunately, dat intension was disposed by the unforseen event of dana crash. I shall be at the lagos Zone this time- let's go there on monday. It is well.

We are getting there. I had said that we can't meet all these condition by JA investigation. Moreover, time is not on our side. I did promise for few printed shirts in the lagos zone. However, it may portray us as rented and having political undertone. I feel since its on issue of Job, we should be corporate the way we went for the interview and with our folders. This time camouflage folders of our credentials.

Are we going on an unemployment revolution?? Pls d purpose shld only be for NNPC deceitful recruitment.
This's bcos if we embark on a general unemployment protest, den NNPC towers shouldnt b our destination at all. The protest shld b simple but serious. -NNPC IN DECEITFUL RECRUITMENT.
No need for printed uniforms.
No need for registering with activists(unless dey want to).
No need to give NNPC notice.
No need for any election here(on d protest day we'll get a leader).
We've to look harmless but SERIOUS!

Printed t-shirts will make us look hired. We've to look for morale here in this thread. Thursday,i think, is too close. Monday's ok.
Pls this's not a rally of unemployment cos some parastatals have already recruited massively. Just hit d nail on d head- NNPC in deceitful recruitment. Chikena!

Good one, but the captions should reflect on the DPR recruitment and NNPC experience hires GT 2008 also. Everyone must be carried along. On the dress code, I support the idea of corporate wears or better still, a pair of black jeans and a white top. LETS ARISE AND MAKE IT MEMORABLE! The first of its kind.

1. Invite National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) because this issue indirectly affects them. They will soon be graduating and if this trend continues it will also affect them. We ca invite the various chapter from different zones.

2.We all dress uniformly i.e black trousers,jeans and skirts for ladies and white top as suggested by bravejustice.

3.We invite PENGASAN to intervene by inscribing on our placards if we consider it necessary.


4.We also invite NASS Speaker to intervene by also inscribing on the placard if we consider it necessary.


Finally i believe God who does not sleep will go ahead and make a potent case and have the issue resolved ASAP with both NNPC and DPR hopefuls obtaining their offer letters within the shortest possible time.

Why trainees alone? Have Experienced hire received there letters? What about consultant?
Everybody should be carried along in the protest/rally!!!!!!
The banner should ask for the conclusion of 2008 and 2010/11 recruitment

Its in our wish that this planned peaceful protest solves the unemployment problems facing our generation. Its equally our wish that many other bodies as always had been mentioned to join for more effectiveness. But we have been limited by periodicity of events, and I will want us to define our scope explicitly. I think the NNPC 2010 and their counterpart, the DPR should be our scope while we make reference to aborted NNPC 2008. That may force the NNPC authorities to make pronouncement from their quite position ( from my own view)

NANS inclusion into this demonstration could lead to a chaotic protest. The purpose of the protest is simple, to inform the public about NNPC and DPR recruitment process that has lingered for two years. The more specific we are, the better the message we will be passing across. The inclusion NANS could generalize the message making the cause for agitation somehow vague. however if any group or sympathizers wishes to join us, they will be more than welcome.

why dawdle at the face of urgency?, commotion is not motion, and dont mistake movement for achievement, the probability of the protest tending towards zero is increasing by the seconds. if you guys allow oniwon's exit, then you will realise how powerless your protest can be when confronting cabals. forget about 2008 recruitment, the destiny has been sealed,it can only be used as a case in point to justify the 2010 arguement.
