Happy new year to all. The house commitee on petroleum down stream asked the minister of petroleum during her defence of the proposed budget for the ministry and its affiliates today why the personell cost of the ministry and its agencies increased from #24billion in 2011 to #30billion in 2012 despite the fact that their staff srenght remains the same, and she replied "we are going to recruit massively this year".Provisions were made in the budget proposal to accomodate the new intakes. I believe the pressure will work in our favour. We must keep believing. God bless.

vin20, I dont understand why you are allowing yourself to be disturbed by what people are saying. Somebody in nnpc gave you the information and you relayed it to the house. You have done no one no harm but is simply passing on what you have been told to the house for the common good of all, if the person that gave you the information is correct or not, time will tell. Stay calm.

the fate that he is asking for confirmation does not mean his is lying. if anyone has a supporting information he or she should add to it. thanks house.

The successful candidates in the previous exercise will first be issued appointment letters. Then a second recruitment can take place after the passage of the PIB. This is because, going by the Minister's assertion of a recruitment this year, it is not possible to start another process and employ within this year, given that no such process has been initiated. Moreover, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources cannot defend a cancellation of the current process, given the huge resources already spent on two consecutive nation-wide recruitments by NNPC.

The DPR Executive Secretary, Mr Austin Olorunshola informed the National Assembly Joint Committees on Gas and Petroleum Resources (Upstream and Downstream) that they are expecting to employ 250 workers in another two weeks. Please does anyone have info on NNPC. Thanks to PHCN, i didnt get the NNPC part. Though from what they said, all the new employments in the industry will be in the first quarter of 2012. Meaning it wont exceed april 30. GOD bless us all.

my guy 1st quarter ends in 30th march, i think nnpc is inclusive,frm wht dpr director said, bcos there go together
