I dont know if the passage of pib has somtin to do with this recruitment. The bil was sent to the nass and the followin day i watch on ait that the nass wld look after the pib in 3weeks time. If i'm not mistake this is the second or last week after that broadcast on ait. I some how beliv on this second batch. Wishin all the hopeful good luck.
Honestly, I don't think this recruitment was chartered on pure merit based on what I've been reading. Some people might be picked without knowing people who did very well on Federal Xter but very few. Bcos those people with 2 masters from abroad, what else did they need GT for, anyway some of them are not doing anything at abroad, and children of lobbyists. Why NNPC did not advertise for masters for GTs instead of Bachelors? And this what had been causing some NNPC staff leaving the corporation after some years for better offers.I don't think the process is over, more list to be released.Pls people should get me right.
No, No another list must be released by God's grace. How could NNPC not make provision for at least 1000s in the budget? the time frame for the process was long, why?In fact, our people there should ask the HR for the delay? thanks.
nice observation bb1.even if u go back 2d days in our tertiary institution.most wil say,i got admission bt none wil say i did runs or paid some1 so so amount or gav som1 my form n documents.it was just,I GOT ADMISSION n it is bin said as if all admitted were on merit.d human mind is the deepest of al depths in d world.bt al we seek 4rm God is his favor 2giv we children of nobody wat we deserve on merit n shame d runs people when we testify 2his greatness.
No, No, No, No;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; Another list must be released by God's grace. How could NNPC not make provision for at least 1000s in the budget? the time frame for the process was long, why?In fact, our people there should ask the HR for the delay? thanks.

Apart from my reliable source on the another batch coming out, I have that strong feeling that we shall be called by God's grace whether we were swapped or not. Bcos if some of here should be telling our performance and little experience have, many of us would be surprised.
This has been reason why I'm yet to understand how the process was done, what benchmarks and parameters ware used? We are just waiting for the 2nd list.
I had a long conversation with a senior staff of the corporation I met yesterday on referral and he told me that a lot of them are unhappy with the outcome of this recruitment exercise. Apparently, most of them have relatives involved in the recruitment exercise too and followed the exercise closely, but he said while the GT cadre was quite fair, the EH hire selection was manipulated. He said some people even suggested a recall / withdrawal of some employment letters at the EH category but the corporation is cautious of possible legal brawls this may lead to. He however said a management meeting has been scheduled to iron out some things and that the last is probably yet to be heard of this recruitment exercise. Finally, he said another set of people MAY still be invited depending on the outcome of the meeting. These were his words!!
Let us keep praying that they release the second list and that on time; but whatever the case, we (or some people, media outfits, authorities, associations, unions, etc) must not relent until NNPC is made to make public the criteria for the selection. I am not insisting that I am the best candidate to be employed, but at least, they should clear the air of all these speculations. Let us still give them the benefit of doubt that they will later publish the names of the employees, their states of origin, etc. Recruitment in a public set up like NNPC shouldn't be shrouded in such secrecy. 2nd list! 2nd list!! 2nd list!!! Where art thou? It's better you come out of wherever you're being kept now
haba oga, u dont need t b d child of a big wig 2 have 2 masters degree or a foreign degree. infact, even if they are children of big wigs, dey dont have 2 b dumb, u probably forgot 2 mention that I observed from the way dey spoke dat they were brilliant and intelligent. I believe those I referred to can compete favourably with anyone in any organisation or interview and would not need referrals to get a good job. I honestly believe the people i see here are good. believe me, they are some of the best in the country, i pray you'ld b called so that u can understand what I am saying. God bless you
Like I had said earlier on, if we continue to probe the process, we wont move further, Lets move on because most of us would have done same if we saw anyone that would help us. Lets hold on God for the release and inclusion of our names on the second list and for the records, when CBN recruited last year, they had up to 6 lists. someone i know made the third list after she changed her state of origin to her husband's.
Where are the Josephs? Lets fire prayers.
the fact dat you have a masters does not mean you cant b a GT. it is a choice if the applicant, if He or she decides to accept a GT offer. and besides, having 2 masters does not mean u have enough job experience for a higher post. honestly, it is a matter of choice for the applicant.
Alanu loluwa, we appreciate ur efforts in giving us real info, but what we are saying is that even six batches are called u would see more eloguent and briliant people in all unless one does not know what he/she has. We are yet to come to understanding of the recruitment's benchmaks, do u know all the people there and those who are yet to be called.I strongly bliv that more to be called, Yoruba says "A de oko baba enikan, ni a n so wipe oko baba mi lotobiju". We can just be thanking God.Simple as ABC.
Obogbo, thank u 4 ur timely info. I think there is something under this recruitment which made the press has no access to it. I strongly bliv in transparency and accountability.
You know what?
nigerians are the most schooled in US according to survey and this i believe cuts accross other countries where we are. I think because of our disadvantaged position (unemployment, corruption and other vices) we have fled our land to other lands and we have to be more educated than them in their land to be able to get their jobs.
During our parents time you would get job as soon as you've gotten your first degree but now? you can have 20 degrees and still be in the labour market. Lets keep garning those degrees one day they would come handy. Then anybody that can be employed by NNPC can also be employed in the middle east. google those jobs, search for them. I met someone in dubai who just resumed a nursing job in dubai. she said she took time out to shop for the job in her earlier trip and that there are opportunities there. Presently i have registered to some of their jobsites for job alert. lets widen our search. if our leaders are recycling the wealth then we should help ourselves by not waiting for them to help us. you can imagine we had above two hundred and something thousand hustling for NNPC job. God have mercy.
I met a Nigerian working with oman airline in the conference i went for in dubai but he had some certifications. That is why i said we need to get those certifications. I also met an indian with 16 certifications and degrees inclusive. All these jobs are on the net and meant for some of us. I want to hear good news from us. Someone i know retired from shell nigeria and picked up a job in dubai. he is back in nigeria as a consultant. Please lets search for those jobs on the internet.
obogbo, pls keep updating us as things dey go.
hahaha.. I know a lot of young Nigerians with more than 3masters and still doing more when it was free-tuition in some part of EU!!!!
I also met some-one that rejected the GT offer as per thesalary.
these young nigerian dont have any work experience!!! and can accept GT offer
I heard no GT Economist wuz called for the present induction. One of my inductee friends conveyed the message to me. How true is this please, any contrary observation?
- please do not scare the very few people who are in training and feeding the forum back. Their feedback gives you hope. After all, they have no obligation since they are already in. Please encourage them. Do not attack what they feed you with; keep the attack to your self.
- In due time, everything will be clear from my own calculation, NNPC, I guess is prepared for any outcome. This is my first of learning that an Employer will show you your interview sheet and score. Like someone said, 40/50 seems to be the minimum. This I think is deliberate. You will see, in time everything will be laid bare. Everything will be published. They even said they have a certificate of compliance from FCC for the process.
- Alanu, has a very good heart and should be encouraged, I learnt he made distinction or fist class (we go school for night). Also Terraco and Ele. Bebrief.
- In work environment, experience counts far and above certifications and PhD. Even in banking, those that went to Uk for masters came back to same level in their banks and reported to their former juniors who had been promoted twice while they were away. NNPC and most Nigerian Companies count first degree very important; any other is your personal development. How many degrees does Oniwon, Yakubu have? Go and read their profile and those of the GEDs. You need work 3 years per level, someone with 10 years’ experience will fall into SS3.
- We are in Nigeria, if Newspapers force NNPC to bring out the scores, what they quote for you is what you will take. If they say you scored 20/50. What do you do? Will you question them?
- Civility should be our watch word here; You don’t know who is who and who might help you tomorrow. We all are still growing. Except if I am at Edwin Clark’s age & status, then I can talk any how. I might not agree with Jesus Army most of the time, but I respect him greatly. I don’t know him, he does not know me. Who knows tomorrow, he might help me.
- The world is very small. I have been in a forum like this and when I met a man I had been exchanging threads for 4 years, the man happened to be a VC of a federal Uni in Nigeria and 56 years old. I had to prostrate to the man when he introduced himself to me in a function as we sat to together and saw me responding to a thread under my Pseudo name and I thanked God that I kept it clean. Do you know I got N1.8bn deposit from this man from his school project account he opened through me.
- It was only Nne-Mak, I used the word miserable, which I withdrew immediately when she made me realise that the job will help a young lad .I apologised to her immediately.
- Adumamama comments seem to be corroborated by the GTs now in the Towers.
- Suki and BB1, it shall be well with you. Every great man has a story. Some MDs of banks never had degrees or were from privilege background.
- I wish you all, the best and well too. Look on to God, the Arthur and finisher of our faith.
- Modsquad signing out. If possible deactivate me from the forum.
Many thanks Modsquad. I luv ur maturity. But irrespective of ur signing out I ll appreciate a PM or 2 if relevant to d hopefuls. So long!
@ModSquad nice piece, But the WORD. When you apologized yesterday, the valued i have for you instantly increased. We learn everyday...............
on a lighter note peeps assume nne-mak is a woman but ama man with kids!!!!
Dont run away...we learn from each other.......
@caproginja! Its not true during da introduction session I heard aboout 3 ppl who introduced demselfs as graduates of economics infact two had masters. And I didn't hear evrybodys introduction may b dia r more sef.
For those asking for the benchmark used my question is "is there any precedence?" Which fed parastatal have done this before? When you were selected for the apt test who did you know? It was not wuruwuru then. When you were invited for the interview who did you know? Also, it was ok then because you were involved. We did not forced them to advertise/conduct the recruitment so cynicism/blackmail will not help. People should learn to be grateful. That is one thing that attracts the blessing. You don't get what you criticise. If the process was good when we were short listed then it is good now. God bless you all.
@Modsquad. True sign of greatness. You got it guy!
I won't be wrong to say that 95% of people in this forum are so excellent in their attitude and cute in character. Great team, great assets for any leader.
Guys pls pardon me,I hardly have time especially this season to comment to all the wonderful posts here. All are appreciated. Its a promise, I will never relent in praying for all those who believe in the 2nd batch(though no need to be anxious about it). God stopped the sun's movement. With God all things are possible. Shalom!
Now I think one should have very strong reasons to believe that Nnpc management have access to infos posted on this thread.1. To clear our doubts that the process is tranparent, they allow you to see your scores. 2. To douse and clear the air about the legality of the process regarding FCC(federal character) we are informed they have FCC certification on the process. I have followed some govt recruitment process, these things aren't obtainable. Key lessons to learn. Shalom.
sincerely, you are a graduate in agric econs.....what do u want to do in NNPC? I think you should channel ur energy to ministry of agriculture. May be there is something u will do for NNPC sha? Let the house know.
u say there is wuruwuru in the process now but before now there was no wuruwuru. I guess some of u are praying that the process should be cancelled and we should all not be employed but for ur info we got our IDs yesterday and today. So make una wait for next batch if there is anything like that and if not there will be another recruitment process coming up but if u strongly that there is wuruwuru in d process or you are really agrieved DONT APPLY IF THE NEXT ADVERT COMES OUT BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR.
It has been a wonderful time in this forum
see you at the top (be it NNPC or not).
To all my collegues, congratulations, i hope you are enjoying the breakfast, lunch and the joke section. Pls do not forget to be at the hall by 9:30am as the GMD will be addressing us by 10am.
It is not easy, but we shuld have faith.that said,if any of us have an oportunity to speak to someone for help on the recruitment,i am sure we will utilize it.so guys, let us drop the issue of wuruwuru.let's keep hopin that tins will be fyn.i am sure it is quota that dropped most of us,and the number recruited.lets keep hope alive.it is well.
It wl b beta 2 let dis thread die its natural death than sombody coming here 2 mock dos who r yet 2 get cal
@ skudi.....nobody is mocking anybody, and i dont think anyone will do that but the way the house is emphasing the wuruwuru thing....it upsetting especially when u knw that there is no truth in it. Also why will someone come to say that NNPC should publish the names....for security reasons...NNPC will never do that becos people for the creeks whose name will be posted will be at the risk of being kidnapped directly or indirectly....i had said it earlier...what will be will be....forget the bitterness againt a company u are willing to work for and wait upon God to make all things beautiful for you at the appointed time.
Also, some one said when u are getting admision, no one will talk about the runs they did to get in so also when someone fails exam all that will be said is that...the lecturer failed me...no one will say he/she actually failed the course...you push the blame to the lecturer.
The fact that you dont believe something does not mean it is not true....whether you believe it or not....the 2010 recruitment process is on merit.....
I strongly pray that the 2nd list comes out so that our joy will be full but even is the second list comes, not every one will be employed. So please what will be will be.
As for me i really want to give info to help folks on this thread but am discouraged at the reaction of some people.
God bless you all.
I sign out now and will keep watching the out come of this thread.
Guys let those who got the job enjoy it. If there is second batch, fine, else life goes on. No need to cry over split milk;something you can do nothing about.
