[1]. Job Title: IPTV Engineer
Job Type: Permanent
Required Experience: Entry Level
Age: Not more than 26 years
Minimum Qualification: B.Sc. in Elect/Elect/Comp engineering or equivalent from a Reputable University, Second Class Upper (2.1)
Network certifications are an added advantage – CCNA, CCNP etc.
Responsibilities:


  • Support Product unit in the expansion of IPTV infrastructure
  • Support Product unit in roll out of new IPTV and OTT Systems and features
  • Sourcing and procurement of effective systems from the world market
  • Manage the financial health of IPTV department (including Capex and Opex)
  • Planning and engineering /design of IPTV headed, middleware, VAS and OTT systems
  • Implementation and rollout of the systems
  • Manage technology roadmap for the IPTV infrastructure
  • Provide engineering support during the lifespan of the systems e.g. feature upgrade, replacement, Tier 3 support, etc.
  • Provide mentorship and look after development of staff


Required Skills:


  • Thorough understanding of Ethernet transport mechanisms as well as IP operations, ports and protocols.
  • Knowledge of implementing and troubleshooting various LAN | WAN Networks.

Responsibilities:


  • Research, design, plan, configure and implement new technologies, IP Telephony\VoIP into current operating environment.
  • Test and evaluate future looking technologies by participating in beta tests of given technologies.
  • Assist in the design, implementation and sustaining support of IP Routing, Switching and IP Telephony Technologies.
  • Creates standards and policies that impact cross-functional initiatives
  • Shares information and knowledge to assist others. Play a strategic and operational role.
  • Provide technical consultation and leadership in the design and development of complex technology rollouts

FTTH Maintenance Engineer

Required Experience: 3 – 4 years’ experience in related field
Age: Not more than 28 years
Minimum Qualification: HND in Electronic Engineering or related field, Upper credit

Responsibilities:


  • Perform fiber cable testing and installation including specs in losses, BER and line characteristics
  • Handling interfaces with clients, engineers and customers
  • Handling work logistics
  • Manage tasks and achieve targets and performance requirements


Required Skills:


  • Knowledge of fiber cable technologies , structure and handling
  • Experience in fusion splicing and fiber cable laying management with preference for Certified technicians


  • Ability to perform fiber cable testing and installation including specs in losses, BER and line characteristics
  • Familiar with materials for splicing elements, termination connecters, distribution panels etc.
  • Familiar with OSP line schematics as necessary
  • Familiar with XDSL services, technologies and requirement
  • Experience in service access provisioning, testing and troubleshooting
  • Understand primary and secondary network access topologies
  • Knowledge in copper access cabinets layout, frames and line verifications
  • Networks access (VLAN) prevision certification is preferred
  • Communication and interface skills with customers and service operators
  • Independent and capable in self-managing feasible tasks at achieving targets and performance requirement
