The African University of Science and Technology (AUST) is a private, pan-african, coeducational, research university located in Abuja, Nigeria. The mission of AUST is to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the African continent in the 21st century.The basic objective of AUST is to educate the next generation of African scientists and technologists with the capacity to solve real African problems and provide leadership that can lead to the economic and social transformation of Africa.___________________________________________ ______
Admissions for 2010/2011 are for the following MSc/PhD programs:
* Pure and Applied Mathematics
* Computer Science and Engineering
* Theoretical Physics
* Materials Science Engineering
* Petroleum Engineering
Eligibility:
An honours B.Sc, degree in Physical/Computational Sciences, Any Engineering Field/Geology or Other related Sciences from a recognized university with a minimum of Second Class Upper or a GPA of at least 3.5.
Admission to AUST is based on academic performance and potential and Full scholarship exist which covers tuition, accomodation and feeding.
Deadline for application is March 31, 2010
AUST is a world-class university with extensive network of lectures across the world. Most AUST students in the Sciences are taken to the USA, Canada, UK and India for practical experience.

For now, as you can see, AUST offers only MSc/PhD in Computer Science and Engineering. Consider your present degree and make your choice wisely. Cheers!

Actually, the government of some Northern States have negotiated for some slots in this year's admission, also PTDF shall sponsor about 30 scholars, but so far, admissions have been fair and strictly based on merit. AUST is stricly for excellent students, and for this reason I will advise any average student not to apply. This might sound unfair, but to be forewarned is to be forearmed our elders say. Goodluck!
Hi Everyone,
Note that AUST is not a Nigerian University, it is owned by the Nelson Mandela Institute (NMI) whose Chair is based in Washington DC, USA, and as such NYSC Certificate is NOT needed for the application. Sharp Naija Corpers who could "do runs" about their primary assignments should apply. Also, excellent final year students graduating before June can apply.
