what was the abstract reasoning like?

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Aptitude Testing
In all cases, entry-level job applicants are
subjected to a standardized aptitude test and only those who score at or above
the pre-established cut-off mark are shortlisted for the second level of
testing. HR determines cut-off marks in consultation with representatives of the
hiring department.
Skill Test
A skill test is usually
administered for those who are advanced past the aptitude test; especially for
Medical, Engineering, Geoscience, Computer Applications, Accounting and other
Technical positions. This stage assesses the technical knowledge of candidates
in their area of expertise. This test is administered by our Technical Training
Unit, the hiring department, or an authorized external consultant. In each case,
HR coordinates and supervises the testing. Only candidates who meet the
pre-determined cut-off mark for the skill test are invited for an oral
interview.
Oral Interview
Having passed through the
previous two stages, the candidate is taken through an oral interview. This
could be by a panel or on one-to-one basis. The oral interview uses Behavioral
Event Interviewing methodology to evaluate competencies and attributes of the
candidates to determine his/her suitability for the vacant position. The
interview also provides the candidate with an opportunity to get a better
understanding of the position, the work location, future personal development
and career opportunities, and other information about the hiring
organization.
Recommendation
After the final interviews are
concluded, HR provides a summary of the interview from the interviewers' notes
and recommendations are reviewed with representatives of the hiring department
who make the final selection decision. Management approval is required prior to
job offer evaluation.

Come on now son! Nobody's falling for that. Let me guess, you send an email to that address, and then they respond by telling you to pay some money to get the questions right. Move on abeg.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
For the sake of all things sacred and getting a god job in this part of the world can some one send the skill test to [email protected] - c'mon guys one luv!!!
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@ Flymary: Yes. I think we should dismiss the new emails.
We don't want to end up being disqualified for taking the test more than once.
Waiting for the results from the first test should be our main focus right now and preparing for the next stage as well.
I'm still trying to speak with someone from dragnet. The phone number on the second IV isn't going thru..
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Guys, I do not think there is any mix up. Though I may not be able to confirm this. Notice the differences. This 2nd mail reads "Engineering Aptitude Test" and we are required to visit www.dragnetnigeria.com/exxon2012. The initial mail read "Unlimited Aptitude Test" and we were required to visit www.faceoftesting.com. My concern also lies in the change of userID and password. If u visit the new site now and login in, you will still meet your details intact. I think the question here is...."is there any difference btw Unlimited Apt Test and Engineering Apt Test"!
One luv!
-
@alphaj thank boss. Please not to b too inquisitive, what's d overall difficulty level of d numerical aspect?
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@ dynamicfellow: That's quite true oh! I'm just giving what you said a thought now.
Is it possible we are already being invited for the skill test? That will be quite sudden, isn't it?
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@ALL: there is a phone number at the end of the email. Always call for clarification.
I got the 2nd mail 2 & I'd to call. I was advised to proceed & select my test location because I must have applied for 2 positions. However, the second login ID will be deleted automatically if the system doesn't match me for a second position.
Wrt job, I can't remember applying for 2 positions but considering the fact that I also applied for 2012 Esso-MPN PG Scholarship, I did myself good by following the advice of choosing a location...
I hope it helps...
-
i had my test 9.00am on Friday,Lagos. i also got d second Mail from one Okon something and it reads "Engineering Aptitude Test".i hav not received the mail to select my preferred test centre
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
I am going to try and clarify what is going on as best as i can. IF you got the second email, you probably have two profiles on their system. From the look of things, the second email was sent to people who had submitted "unsolicited engineering position applications" in the past. If you turned in your application last year, you probably got this email. The first email invitation was specifically for those that applied to the 2012 engineering positions this year. Remember how so people were having issues applying for 2012 and decided to use another email? Thats probably why you got a second invitation. I think they are just trying to involve everyone that is qualified (an that has at least turned in an unsolicited application since the 2009 recruitment). Thats just my view sha. IF you got a second invite, just ignore it because it will b a duplicate
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Hmmm....@catchwind. I also applied for the Mobil scholarship but when I observed that it was the same phone number as the first invite that was displayed after logging in (I used a different phone no for the scholarship), I struck out the invite as for the Scholarship. But anyway, will proceed as directed. No one knows

Actually, I was told otherwise by one of the dragnet staff.
I was told its a "systemic-type" (can't remember the guys exact words) issue. He said I should disregard the email I received asking me to choose a test location, and they will check their systems to see if the individual has written the test, before sending out a new invite. So hopefully, those of us who have written the test already should not be seeing the actual invitations coming in.
-
i don't think so..Im yet to write mine n i got d second iv with Exxon

Guy, we're saying the same thing. Dragnet only issues out invitations based on what they get from exxon. The issue originated with exxon. Like i said before, if you've already gotten a test date and you get a second invitation, ignore it.Better yet, just call for clarification
If the invitation is your first, then go ahead and sign up

You prolly have two profiles or you prolly applied to another position last year. Ignore the second one and go for your test. Best of luck. I believe they decided to invite every qualified person that applied to them (including other job postiions) --- Either that or someone in their HR got sloppy
