Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
I got the materials from noble joy and Liberal Sturz. Thanks a lot guys.
Like I promised, I uploaded the files to http://www.mediafire.com/?m2b56ivvdj3b6wv and http://www.4shared.com/zip/FLt8_JWO/Assessmentday_Sample_Tests.html?refurl=d1url.
4shared will ask you to create an account to download but mediafire is free.
Note that the materials are AssessmentDay. Although the dragnet test format is GSE (Graduate Standardization Examination) format, I know we'll all find some useful help from the AssessmentDay materials.
Continue to the links for anyone interested in the materials. It can really be tiring and burdensome to be forwarding these materials to emails time and again.
All the best to you guys.

www.4shared.com or
www.scribd.com.
With that, you only need to post the link or just tell us the name you use in uploading to the particular site, and any person in need of such can easily download from that link.
Alternatively, if you think what I suggested is too much hassle, just help me drop it to my email
[email protected] and I will gladly put it up for all and sundry.
Thanks in advance
I have sent it to you and hope you will be kind to upload it on 4shared as u offered. Thanks

In February, I was part of the test condusted by Dragnet at Ilupeju Industrial Estate for Total. We first took an online Personality Test before we were invited for the Aptitude test. As far as I can remember, the Aptitude test was in the GSE format.
I presume that GMAT, GSE and Assessment day all have a lot in common. SHL is unique especially in the Spatial Reasoning. So far, I've not been able to lay my hands on any GSE material both online and offline. So, if you can't lay your hand on any preferred format, just make do with the ones that are available.
Let's give this the best shot we can.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Thanks Denass.
Ive uploaded the materials already. Again, the links are http://www.mediafire.com/?m2b56ivvdj3b6wv and http://www.4shared.com/zip/FLt8_JWO/Assessmentday_Sample_Tests.html?refurl=d1url.
The first one is a free download while the latter (4shared) will ask you to register with them.

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Yes, we used calculators supplied by Dragnet Solutions. We were not allowed to use personal calculators even though almost all of us came with different grade s of calculators.
Everybody should note that the materials being circulated on the forum so far is AssessmentDay materials (Practise Questions and Solutions). So if that's what you have already, you don't need to redownload then from the sites I uploaded them to. If there's any other one, I believe we'll get them soon.

Thanks for the info. If u guys used calculators then the test isn't in GMAT format because GMAT questions are designed to be taken without calculators. I hope this helps the house. You guys can also get some sample questions and tips on how to pass the numerical section from "numericalguru.com". All the best

where dyu get this from? GMAT not designed to be taken without calculators? that isn't correct information. there is no where this has been stated in the book mate!

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)

Well, with all due respect, i think u r quite inexperienced when it comes 2 taking aptitude tests for u not to know dt. GMAT tests are designed to test your non-linear techniques and shortcut solving ability so no GMAT format test is taken with a calculator. Do your research young man...but there's no harm in practising with GMAT questions...it'll help improve ur math skills...but the format just diff from d rest. I hope that answers ur question and sorry if i sounded harsh/blunt

Ah! Oga no vex, why are you taking it personal? Mr Experience!
Anyways, YES, that will be the standard GMAT format (FYI - I have taken the GMAT test before)! Going back to my question on the IEC GMAT book, which is nothing like standard GMAT - there is no way these tests will not need calculators, I am staring at the book! Or dyu want to tell us how to work out the log and antilog of numbers without a calculator or table???

I first got a mail from Exxon Personnel telling me that Dragnet will soon send me an Invite and I should update my details to include my preferred test centre.
Then Dragnet sent me a message on Friday asking that I should check my mail and upload the said details which I did on Sunday.
That's the process so far friend

lol...i've never written any aptitude test dt told me 2 calculate log or anti-log so i think u r wasting ur time practising dt...no test administrator gives u a scientific calculator to take a numerical reasoning test...google "free numerical reasoning practice test online" and practice diff formats of numerical test under timed conditions. that's d advise i can give for now. gudluck

This is why you need to read questions before replying!
My initial question was based on the statement that "gmat is not designed to be taken with calculators", and whether or not you were referring to the iec "gmat" book. Nothing to do with log or antilog coming out in the aptitude test, that was just to prove a point.
Thank you for the good luck, same to you mate!

Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
pls is it true that dragnet carry out negative markig?pls this is very important
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
Almost all aptitude tests are designed to be relatively numerically convenient. Meaning that the figures are quite readily divisible and also 4 quick multiplicatns. For example if u did recent Shell test, the invitation email sent included the words 'You may use a calculator'.
However, most tyms non-scientific calculators are still provided because of the time constraint.
Shl test format allows 4 calculators (non scientific) just as dragnet. But for some company tests, the use of a scientific calculator is inevitable. However those are mainly science-based or eng'g-based tests and may not be lumped into the same category as conventional aptitude tests.
Long and short is that you can actually solve those problems without a calculator... Ps: Speaking 4rm experience...lol

I don't think dragnet carry out negative markings. Reason: in december 2010, I wrote dragnet test at chams ph and my result was sent to me after 1wk. I answered 13questions in numerical and I scored 60 percent. I answered all d 16questions in abstract and scored 73 percent. I answered only 6questions in cd comprehension,as I was afraid of negative marks, but I scored 15 percent. My average was 49percent, but d pass mark was 50percent, so I failed. I regreted answering just 6 in d english. D numerical was 20 questions and each of them has 5marks, if there was negative markings, there is no way one can score 60percent from 13questions, check it mathematically. D material circulating is not d dragnet I've written b4.

I was asked by Exxon HR to send my first and Second degree grades and institution which I did since last Friday. I still haven't heard anything since then. Has anyone in the same situation who sent theirs had a reply yet? Cheers

Do you have an associates/HND? Did you make less than a 2/1? Someone posted that he got an invitation yesterday for the 10 thru 13th or so. Maybe they'll still send you an iv for that time frame
-
Re: 2012 ExxonMobil Engineering Recruitment (Trainee and Experienced Professionals)
@Makavelli, I was also asked to send my class of degree and some other stuffs like dat which I did, and am yet to hear from them. Since someone got his/her invite today, I'm hopeful they will still call us. Fingers crossed.
