JOB TITLE: Lead Financial Officer (LFO)

GENERAL REQUIREMENT
The ideal candidate most have strong analytical skill, pay critical attention to details and have a
holistic view/ approach in carrying out job functions. Demonstrated mastery of verbal and
written communications skills is very key as s/he will be required to lead meetings and give
presentations to all levels of the organization, as well as negotiate rates, payment etc while
managing clients and service providers. The candidate must be self-driven should be
comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking initiatives, multitasking, delivering
requests under tight time frames.
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS
Directs the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship
with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community by performing the
following duties personally or through subordinate team members
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate,
long range forecasting, and insurance activities for the organization.
· Directs the controller in providing and directing procedures and computer application
systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting.
· Directs the treasurer in activities such as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the
organization.
· Appraises the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on organization's
financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
· Coordinates tax reporting programs and investor relations activities.
· Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other
statistical and routine reports.
· Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the organization’s annual report.
· Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and
their impact on the organization's policies and operations.
· Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution, and
determines their financial impact.
· Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education:


Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited university
Completion of a master's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work
experience.
ICAN or other equivalent certification



Experience:
The candidate must have 5-7 years experience;

  • of financial experience and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations of an organization of at least 50 staff persons
  • With managing group finance
  • Working in an Audit firm
  • In an organization that deals in ICT



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


  • Knowledge of taxation must be excellent
  • General office software, particularly Tally and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to create and assess financial statements and budget documents.
  • Able to recognize and be responsive to the needs of all clients of the organization,including funding organizations and the Board of Directors Supervise staff, including regular performance reviews and plans for improvement.
  • High-level communication and influencing skills necessary to deal effectively with clients, financing & investor institutions.
