Job Summary:
This position will assume direct management responsibility for all project activities in the State. This includes supervising State teams, managing overall partner relationships, responsibility for all documentation and reporting; and managing all financial activities at the State level.

Responsibilities:
Manage performance on an on-going basis including guidance, motivation, resolution of problems, training needs identification, regular review meetings, and provision of Performance Appraisals.
Management and coordination of all project activities in that State, in line with the project proposal and implementation plan.
Ensure regular two-way communication and consultation between State teams and the project management. Ensuring adherence to all reporting and activity schedules for the State, identifying problems, consulting, and seeking support as needed.
Serve as the main focal point for organizational relationships with the partners in the State.
Provide technical support to Child Protection Committees (CPCs) to prepare action plans and provide direct support to OVC and families through home visits, in line with the action plans, etc.
Ensure that all project reporting and M&E systems are effectively implemented and that required information and reports are submitted accurately and on time.
Work closely with Finance Unit to implement, monitor expenditure of budget appropriately, ensuring timely disbursement, activities, reporting, and documentation, monitoring variances and troubleshooting as needed.
Develop and maintain strong external networks with government agencies, partners, other USAID implementing partners, and other key stakeholders in the State.
Ensure that CSO partners and CPCs comply with all financial rules and regulations in line with USAID procedures and Save the Children (SC) policies.
Ensure that all visitors to the project in the State (both internal to the project and external) receive appropriate logistical/administrative support. Serve as security focal point for the project in the State.

Qualifications and Requirements:
A Degree in social sciences with at least 5 years post National Youth Service experience, which must include at least 3 years strong OVC programming for vulnerable children, social marketing and sub granting.
Also, preferred are knowledge of health programs with the Nigeria public sector, health system, NGOs/CBOs and collaborative relationship with substantial experience in implementing community-level development projects, using participatory engagement and grassroots mobilization techniques. An MPH is an added advantage. Familiarity with local tradition and language is highly desirable. Preference will be given to qualified candidates from the project State and with demonstrated relevant previous experience.
