The Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil operations (ADCO) functions throughout onshore development sites as well as in the shallow coastal waters of Abu Dhabi.
The Company was incorporated in 1978 to oversee operations in onshore concession areas covering approximately 21,000 square kilometers including five of the most important mainland oilfields in the region. During the first quarter of 2006, the inauguration of the North East BAB has been started.

Key Accountabilities

1. Actively carry out installation, monitoring, configuration and second line support for all technical petroleum systems in ADCO (petroleum technical applications and all underlying hardware, operating systems and databases).
2. Initiate software and hardware procurement in petroleum systems.
3. Develop point-solutions, system tools, and appropriate user interfaces of various petroleum systems application packages and databases.

Detailed Description
• Actively carry out the second line user support, plans for software installation and upgrade, Monitor, and Supervise Software configuration and customization for geosciences, engineering, data management, and GIS applications like Geoframe, Openworks, Voxelgeo, Geoprobe, Jason, Petrel, RMS, Gocad, Geolog, ECLIPSE, VIP, Pansystem, Pipesim, FINDER, etc to ensure enough resources, guarantee applications and data high availability and minimum downtime.
• Perform systems second line support activities, plans for software installation and upgrade, and Monitor technical petroleum systems covering: Hardware, Operating Systems, Clusters, High Performance Computing, Networking, Oracle/SQL Database Management Systems and systems part of Technical applications to ensure enough resources, guarantee high availability and minimum downtime.
• Implement Security Controls by putting the relevant controls in place to ensure that only the authorized people have access to required resources.
• Follow up the IT trends, analyze utilization reports and perform Capacity Planning and advise management to adopt new technologies to achieve ADCO business goals.
• Develop point-solutions, system tools, and appropriate user interfaces of various petroleum system application packages and databases.
• Investigates complex problems to diagnose underlying causes. Applies available facilities to non-standard situations. Diagnoses causes of difficulties, and devises solutions to ensure that the effect on operations is minimized.
• Defines, documents small scale projects, and actively participates in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to ensure success of the projects.
• Initiates procurement process by defining product/service specification, scope of work, SLA and award strategy for PSS contracts. Prepares technical evaluation for bidder’s proposals.
• Sets priority for problem resolution, monitors progress and applies escalation procedures for problems not progressing satisfactorily.
• Support the reality center infrastructure environment in terms of hardware, software, installation, upgrade and maintenance of the reality center.

• Performs other similar or relate duties such as participating in multi-divisional task forces, working groups, incident investigation teams to deal with relevant technical issues, as assigned.
• Effectively participate in recruitment, supervision, development and appraising new/existed colleagues and manage self training and development.
