i want a system engineer in the house to help solve this problem

I have a problem with my USB port it doesn't detect any device be it flash or mouse. In the device manager everything seems to be okay there is no yellow mark on any of the devices, no conflict and it reads "this device is working propaly". I use the diagnostics and utilities that came with it to test is still say is working propaly but still it can detect anything at all. There is current in the in the port because when optical mouse is connected to it its show ligth but it does not detect. i am currently using Dell inspiron 1150 with Xp home edition but i installed an XP professional on the other partition just to see if it will work still to no avail.
Pls i and ready to reward who ever can give an online support that will help me fix this problem. waiting to here from you

If you try what UKEJE says and there is still no changes, then it might be that the USB might have been disabled from the BIOS settings. If you can get to the BIOS settings(i.e. when the system is booting), enable it. But if you dont know how to get there, you better call in an expert so as not to complicate things
