Job Position Summary:

  • The Group Head, Risk and Compliance is responsible for the development, administration, and oversight of the internal audit, compliance, and enterprise risk management programs for Saro Group. Responsible for establishing risk assessments for the group utilising appropriate and approved enterprise risk management frameworks, and developing and overseeing the audit and compliance reviews that are a result of the risk assessments. The key duty of the GHRC is to promote a sound business environment and enhance the risk culture of all subsidiaries within the group. This requires proactive identification and management of risks in the group’s different business lines and operations under a rapidly transforming environment, through critical up-scaling of the enterprise risk management framework and the strategic objective of maintaining risk at acceptable levels.

Work Experience, Educational and Skill Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of the operations and complexities of the agribusiness sector in Nigeria and globally.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and strive to resolve challenging issues.

Knowledge of risk management practices, procedures and applicable laws in all jurisdictions within which the group operates


  • Ability to analyse data and develop and present programs, reports, manuals, etc.
  • At least eight years of audit or compliance management experience, with at least three years in a responsible supervisory enterprise risk management position.
  • An undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, or accounting, is normally required. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate management degree is preferred; essential for those who do not have a business management background.
  • Relevant local and global enterprise risk management and compliance certifications, such as the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) a plus.
  • Previous audit experience in one of the major audit firms will be an added advantage.
