TREASURY PERFORMANCE ANALYST

Job description
1. Distilling the impact of Federal government Medium Term Expenditure framework, monetary and fiscal impact on MTN Nigeria business plan and strategic intent.
2. Conduct periodic banking industry evaluations for management information and updates, analyzing the impact of the movement of various macro-economic indicators on MTNN resources
3. Develop a robust Treasury Performance Dashboard that measures the company performance against the Economic variables and its impact on Shareholders returns and defined management benchmark
4. Monitor and ensure compliance with MTNN Treasury policies and procedures, serving as focal point for business units requiring assistance in treasury related matters.
5. Facilitate and coordinate MTNN Investment and liquidity management committee.
6. Coordinate periodic reviews of investment and foreign exchange policies, benchmarking policies with other companies.
7. Develop, confirm, monitor and report on the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Treasury department.
8. Analyze and report on investment portfolio strategy, yields and investment instruments, bank relationships, risk management and process metrics.
9. Develop a robust management report to review the viability of MTNN projects and the impact on shareholders’ value.
10. Manage the Treasury department’s budget and produce variance reports as part of the reporting cycle.
11. Develop and prepare regular reports for management on the department’s performance.
12. Assist General Manager, Treasury in identifying and resolving performance and service issues within the department.

Experience:
• Minimum of 4 years cognate experience comprising:
• Performance Reporting and Business Analysis.
• Excel Modelling.
• Extensive knowledge in Macro-Economic Analysis and Research .
• 3 years in Cash Management.
• 2 years Performance Management in Corporate Treasury.
• 2 years in the Telecoms or GSM environment is desirable.

Training:
• Best practice in Treasury procedures.
• Liquidity management and cash planning.
• Financial markets [money market and foreign exchange market].
• Up-to-date treasury products.
• Understanding of IFRS.

TREASURY DEALER (FIXED INCOME)

Job description
•Collate information on economic conditions, the financial climate and changes in corporate requirements, carrying out ratio analysis on banks and data on risk ratings and exposure limits.
• Define counterparty risk exposure limit for Banks based on defined financial and risk criteria
• Implement Treasury systems for deal closure and transaction confirmation with counterparties to ensure seamless and secure data transfer
• Update the Investment Policy Statement and asset allocation matrix as required and especially in line with changing business and market factors
• Develop trading strategies on fixed income based on market fundamentals and technical analysis
• Trade fixed income securities via secure trading platform
• Collate daily bank indicative quotes on fixed income securities to aid investment decisions
• Initiate cash settlement and securities transfer instructions following deal closure
• Implement tools for corporate cash management; evaluate banks and custodians and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor the primary auction calendar and the open market operation activities; and make recommendations for investment decisions
• Provide support to the business units requiring assistance in Treasury matters, implementing Treasury policies, processes, and procedures.
• Develop and update service level agreements with counterparties and relevant stakeholders in the investment management value chain.
• Initiate account entries, query and verify all General Ledger balances relating to bank accounts, investment accounts, income accounts for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare management reports on market, competitor and general intelligence that impact the business; while maintaining Treasury records and audit trail in strict compliance to MTNN policies and procedures

Experience:
5 years work experience which includes:
• 4 years experience in Treasury front office environment in the Banking or Investment Banking industry
• 2 years Fixed Income dealing experience
• 2 years post qualification experience
• Familiarity with good accounting practices (IFRS on financial instruments) and the Nigerian policy environment.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the money and capital markets

Training:
• Treasury Management and Financial Modelling
• Bloomberg application
• Understanding of IFRS
• Microsoft Office products
