STORES COORDINATOR - APM TERMINALS, ONNE, RIVERS STATE, NIGERIA, NIGERIA


The purpose of the stores is to maintain adequate and smooth flow of parts and materials to support the efficient operation of the container terminal from all the designated aspect of the store from data collection analysis to inventory management.

Store coordinator is accountable for the overall operational and control processes of the store section.



REQUIREMENTS
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook

Willingness to work under minimal supervision and long/odd hours

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Ensures that a proper inventory control system is in place to carefully monitor stock positions, reorder levels and obsolescence of stock.
Manages store keeping functions from both a central and technical department perspective.
Supervises the daily requisitions from end user and checks the status of item requested.
Keep stock on hand in order to minimize purchases.

Ensures that adequate stocks of key components are maintained in the stores to ensure there is no downtime in operational activity due to lack of stock/spares.

Constantly strive to improve inventory management methods and obtain best possible delivery prices from vendors.
Ensures parts and consumables are made available for the uninterrupted preventive maintenance.
Collaborate with maintenance planning and Engineering to establish specifications and to monitor quality and performance of stock services
Responsible to ensure that stock items are received, preserved, stored and delivered with limited or no loss.
Ensure the timely availability of such items in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Carry out audits of Stores. Produce related audit reports, evaluate findings and evaluate improvements to be implemented into the maintenance management system.
Maintain and operate the storeroom in an efficient and organized manner, and in accordance with written procedures and good storeroom practices
Maintain and control inventory levels so that there is neither excessive stock nor a situation where materials and equipments are not available when needed. Ensuring that an effective method of inventory management is in place, and that ABC analysis is utilized.
Supervises the distribution of materials, equipment and supplies in the organization.

Ensure that on a daily basis the electronic database of parts and supplies is maintained.

Interacts with the finance function to ensure timely delivery and payment of parts, supplies and equipment.
Provide Purchasing Manager with sufficient lead time to obtain needed equipment, parts and supplies.
Advises senior management whenever a serious parts shortage or other problem arises.
Periodically, conducts physical inventory to reconcile ordered items, items on hand, and used items.
