Roles and responsibilities Responsibilities
• Responsible for managing all arrangements for an effective conduction of in-depth interviews (e.g., setting up tape-recorder, labeling the cassette tapes, and taking appropriate security measures to protect the tapes once the session is over, etc.)
• Responsible for taking detailed notes of key informant interviews, and then to expand those notes into rich descriptions.
• Responsible for tasks related to recording (operating the tape recorder, labeling the cassette tapes, and taking appropriate security measures to protect the tapes once the session is over).
• Conducts a debriefing session with the moderator immediately after the key informant interview. This should ideally begin shortly after the interview session has ended; within 15 minutes to a half-hour.
• Responsible for transcribing all taped-recording of the key informant interviews.

Skill set Requirements:

Roles and responsibilities Responsibilities:
• Pretest existing English and Hausa-language key informant interviews guide and modify as necessary
• Moderate in-depth interviews (IDIs) with research assistants according to the study IDI guides
• Interview key informants using the key informant questionnaire.
• Maintain notes on key informant and transcripts from the tape-recorders.
• Debrief sessions immediately after the key informant interviews with TSHIP research team responsible for the state.
• Supervise research assistant for all qualitative data collection.
• Provide periodic feedback and timely communications/updates via phone with TSHIP Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Senior Operations Research Advisor, and Senior Maternal and Child Health Advisor throughout assignment period.
• Travel to various parts of the selected state to conduct in-depth interviews with key informants to gain insight into VAS delivery and processes.

• Graduate degree from a recognized institution relating to public health, international health, epidemiology, or other related field with a minimum of a Bachelor’s level degree
