Job Description
A major player in the shipping/maritime sector requires for immediate employment a business development manager in Lagos.

Responsibilities:
Prospecting, creating and building client relationships in the oil and gas and maritime industries.
Developing sales/marketing plans and implementing strategies to accomplish set targets consistent with the overall objectives of the company
Sourcing for/and renewing of existing clients relationship amongst other job functions, following up on the existing clients for continuous growth of the company.
Identifying and developing new businesses for the company in accordance with the company's strategy and goals.
Identifying opportunities and prospects within the Oil, Gas and Maritime industries and ensuring the systematic conversion of prospects to clients.
Assisting in developing product & service awareness in the marketplace to ensure sustained profit growth of the company.
Performing surveys and gathering information on behalf of the company.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with the regulatory institutions in the Oil, Gas and Maritime Industries.
Creating a proactive network with current and potential clients to collect data about market trends, potential business etc.
Coordinating enquiries and bids on behalf of the company.
Actively monitoring the industry in order to quantify/assess the market and identify business opportunities for growth
Performing other office duties or projects as required or as assigned.
Managing target clients

Qualifications and Requirements
A good university degree in a Business/Social Science/Sciences related discipline. An MBA will be an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar capacity in the oil, gas and maritime sectors
Proven Presentation and Reporting Skills
Must have a wide network in the oil, gas and maritime industry and also possess experience in building and maintaining clients' relationships.
Self Starter - Willingness to work with minimal supervision
Team player; leads by exemplifying shared organizational values
Familiarity with marketing and spreadsheet applications is required
Proven ability to advice and convince clients
Good written and communication skills
Sound computing skills
Ability to handle a multi-tasking role and meet deadlines
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools
