    Lightbulb Business Development Manager - Facilities Management Company

    A Facilities Management company based in Lekki requires the services of an experienced Business Development Manager. We are going through an expansion process and require someone who will fill this position and fit well with our company's forward looking strategies.


    Job Title: Business Development Manager
    Reports to: Managing Director & CEO
    Job Purpose: Establish new partner / vendor/ enabler / joint venture integration with capabilities to sustain the Company’s competitive advantage and tracking performance against key objectives. This individual will have responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with clients, vendors, the petroleum industry and the regulators across the assigned location.

    Primary Responsibilities The job holder will carry out the responsibilities detailed below:

    • Prepare a detailed business plan so as to keep strong focus on goals and objectives
    • Investigate the economic conditions that surround our business activity, such as industry trends and competition
    • Marketing and sales of a range of products and services
    • Innovation in the area of marketing, product development of services
    • Develop long-term growth strategies to optimize mutual profitability across business lines
    • Execute and manage the customer contract agreement process, ensuring global linkage of resources and information sharing
    • Develop sales pipeline leveraging all available resources in coordination with the product development and account management teams
    • Attend workshops, trade shows and seminars to keep up to date on changes in the industry
    • Develop a situation analysis of our company which should include a SWOT analysis to assist in the development of a strategic plan for the future of the business.
    • Be the responsible “Face of the Brand/Company” to the prospect/customer through high level interaction with key stakeholders
    • Participate in high-level, interactive conversations with key decision makers around new or emerging product opportunities
    Person Specification
    • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Business Management, Engineering and or Estate & Quantity Surveying.
    • 5+ years core Sales experience.
    • Deep business development and marketing experience
    • Strong project management, problem solving, analytical and organizational experience
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills, extensive experience in communicating in international environment at senior management level
    • Ability to write winning bids
    • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
    • Organization and time management skills; ability to multi-task
    • Aware of economic trends and keeps abreast of government and industry policies
    • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple stakeholders in a multicultural environment
    • Exceptional business judgment and strategic planning skills
    • Budget preparation and management
    • Solid solution development skills and effective working both independently and in a team environment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
    • Strong client management skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively

    It's quite unfortunate but I thought I will come on here and shed some light on a few things

    Please don't fwd your CV to a recruiter from your sent mail which shows that was the email sent in response to another job advert, it shows you are too lazy to sit down and actually send an email and want the easy way out. To me it shows you are actually non-challant towards your job search and I will delete as quickly as I receive it.

    DO not cc me on an email you send to another company, no recruiter appreciates that...well I don't! That is very unprofessional and even the main company you send it to, seeing you copied another company in will not take you seriously.

    Please put some effort into your job search, if you are asked to send just a CV, at least try to add a few lines to the email and also put the job you are applying for on the subject of the email.

    Stop sending out emails to jobs which you are obviously not qualified for by a long shot, there's no harm in trying if you meet some of the criteria.

    I have had to delete a chunk and I hope yours was not one of them, if you have done any of the things mentioned above then yes I have deleted it and you willl need to take STOP being lazy and get serious with your job applications. Thank you!
