Priority will be given to candidates at an early stage of their scientific career. An award will only be made on condition that the candidate meets the criteria set for entry on the course for which they have applied. The application deadline is 27th September 2013.

Scholarship Description:
The ALN scholarship fund is a source of support for African scientists wishing to undertake a Master’s degree related to the control of infectious diseases in Africa. Candidates should only apply to the university of their choice when they have been awarded a scholarship. The criteria on which selections will be based include past academic experience, evidence of a commitment to research as shown through work experience and publications, evidence of an aptitude for independent learning (which is especially important for candidates wishing to take the distance learning degree), a personal statement of why attending the chosen course will further their career, and referees’ reports.
