Main Duties and Responsibilities:
-To integrate what are currently 4 teams (sales, marketing, in-house and client services) into a single team selling professional training and events.
-To work with the Managing Director to develop and implement a Sales strategy for growing the business
-Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to prepare a marketing plan which will be in line with the Sales strategy of the business.
-Update market knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations.
-Ensure that the sales team works with other departments in the organisation to actively promote sales opportunities, exchange information and increase professionalism.
-Ensure that all verbal and written communications are of high quality, delivered in a timely manner and to a high standard.
- The Head of Sales Initiate sales process by building relationships, qualifying potential and scheduling appointments.
-Develop sales by making initial presentation, explaining product, service enhancements and introducing new products and services.
-Close sales by overcoming objections, coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
Skills:
Very strong skill sets in selling, demonstrating the ability to sell high value accounts within an environment that demands excellent understanding of client requirements.
Significant management experience and demonstrable ability to lead by example, building a strong team and instilling a professional approach.
Excellent written communication skills with ability to write complex proposals
Excellent negotiating and closing skills
Strong commercial awareness
Ability to flourish in a competitive environment
Proven ability to ensure that deadlines and targets are met
Good IT skills, including basic/intermediate level Word, Microsoft Mail, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience:
Proven sales management revenue track record, with experience gained in highly commercial organisations
Experience of managing a team
Experience of close client work, including business development
Exposure to leadership training
